John Stones transfer saga

DailyMail reporting that Chelsea have offered Stones the number 6 shirt.
Do you reckon we could ask Jags to change if that's the deal breaker?

Seriously though, as a club we have strong relations with Chelsea and Man Utd and we all know we will sell and we will get over it and in time we will hail a new star.
Come on guys, we are Everton fans and we know the score.

What utter TRIPE

Two words: Jack Rodwell.

Don't make the same mistake.

Cheese

P.S. I think you're boss.

Not sure, stones is twice the player Roswell was. I would rather keep him but 20 million is silly, we won't be able to say no to anything over 30 million

It was a derisory bid. If he's smart he'll stay at Everton for another season. If we are tosh again this season, he has every right to leave. If he goes to Chelsea now, he won't develop. He needs to believe that he will be as good or better player at the end of this upcoming season. He'll have put in a decent shift at our club (maybe helped us win something) and his value will have risen. He seems like a level-headed lad (in contrast to Sterling for instance. What a brat). Ultimately, I think this is going to come down more to whether the board want to (read: have to) cash in now. And if they do, they'd be crazy to let him go for any less that 30 million. And even with that kind of money, we won't be able to replace him.

Even if we get £50m+ for him we won't be able to replace him. The lad is a once in a generation find. Galloway looks a top prospect but even he is well behind John. That £50m could make us a much better team though. 2 or 3 top signings for that kind of money.

Not the news anyone wanted to wake up to, but if we put the bleach down and our thinking caps on....

  • Sterling just went for 50 mil.
  • Jones and Smalling went for near 20 at a younger age, with less first team experience at Blackburn and Fulham, and no england caps.
  • They got a great deal on Lukaku from us.
  • We only have 2 center backs
  • We just got enough TV money to keep us financially healthy
There is NO way we would consider a bid below 40 million. We don't need to sell, in fact, we need NOT to sell him. Martinez loves him, we love him, he loves it here. This deal will only go through on OUR terms and only for a massive wedge if so.

I'd love to see us publicly respond by telling them it is Hazard on a swap or nothing at all, just to wind them up like the majority of you lot have been.

Straight swop with Courtios or do one. the writing is on the wall here lads it's only a matter of time waiting for the inevitable. from his point of view it would be a great move for him.

I would say the swap could already be done, basically we will swap Lukaku for Stones, final fee will be similar.
