John Stones transfer saga

Reading through the entire thread, we seem to be arguing over when is best to sell him, and how much for.

Granted, most want to keep him for one or two summers, but that's a crap view of things.

What happened to keeping ace players? We should set out to keep him for good, he's brill, not sell him now, or in one or two years.

Im going with what Foxy said mate

"Future Everton and England captain"

Unless they come back with absolute crazy money, £40m+, I don't think we'll sell, and he's certainly not going to agitate for a move.

4 years left on his contract
Season before a major international finals
Would be sitting on the bench for large parts of the season at Chelsea
Expressed happiness and aims at the club after learning of Chelsea interest

Yes, I know the Delph precedent is the one thing people will now constantly bring up whenever one of our players is linked away, but that's a different player, at a different club, in different circumstances. Stating the obvious I know but it needs stating.

I'm long in the tooth and a cynic at times, but I can't see Stones going in this window. Not unless there's a crazy bid that we simply can't turn down.

Negged.

30 million my arse
Tbf you can't blame him for thinking that way. We do have a board who are sucking us dry. Its also up in the air how our board would react to a club actually throwing in a 30m+ bid for one of our players as its never happened before.

Its realistic to assume that a 30m pound bid would seriously test their nerve. Lets be totally honest here.

Has there been anything since we rejected the bid?

I'm waiting for the club to announce a "NOT FOR SALE AT ALL" sort of thing.

To be fair, this is all speculation based on alleged info from "sky sources".

Still nothing on the BBC or The Guardian, so while it very well may be true. Nothing is official.
