John Stones transfer saga

Really??? A lower point than selling Rooney?

Massively.
We needed the money back then. We didnt have record turnover back then. Nor the team capable of competing at the top end.

Years of ineptitude is about to bite us on the arse in my opinion. And yes i think its the lowest point in our history.

Rooney was slightly more understandable given that we'd been regular relegation candidates for many years and were in a lot of debt at the time.

This time around we're pretty established in the top 7 (with the exception of last season of course) with no real reason to sell.

It was still depressing, like.

Rooney was much different, he was 1 of us man, HE WAS MEANT TO BE ONE OF USSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Selling him would be the lowest point in our history in my opinion.

Years of chaos culminating in our prized asset going to a club who we were twice the size of 10 years ago.

But for my son I doubt id set foot in Goodison again till a new board is in place.

What?

Hes 21 years old David, of course hes not the finished player.

But hes not only very talented, but he appears, from everything ive seen, to be a cracking lad, with a really good head on his shoulders, he will go to the very top.

My point is there's no guarantee he'll acquire what he doesn't have right now.

I wont be beside myself if he goes as long as we get a massive fee and lots of time to spend it.

agree with Jinks, we don't need the money as much and stones is just the best thing we've had since rooney.

i would just feel dead about this season if we sold stones.

i'm just going to ignore it all and hope he stays, so for now...

He has everything. He just needs to play games. How you cant see it is beyond me.

Will be the best of a generation.

He will David, he will.

Especially if Jose gets his hands on him, you know how much Jose loves bringing young players on.

(Yes, I was being sarcastic)

So the article says Everton would ONLY consider bids over 30mn IF Stones says he wanted to leave

As of Thursday, he said he wanted to stay

Right everyone, how's Stoke's transfer window going again

Are people serious about 35 million ? If he is to go it would have to be 45/50 million . He is 21 potentially the best ball playing centre half England has seen in decades and potentially future English captain . Please don't sell our selfs cheaply here people.

ho[eully city will get involved, especill after their 'bargain' of delph
Yep. An auction would be great. Usually these clubs wont infringe on each other's quarry to force up a fee, but it seems already like it's not the case here.

We can say that, but remember the club saying we'd only shift on Rooney for £50M?

In the age of football agents making lots of money for themselves, that sadly no longer means anything.

Personally I'd say the Rooney situation just edges it given he was a local lad and the fact that it will be long time before a player with Rooney's potential comes through in England again, never mind specifically coming through Everton's youth academy.

But I do understand were Jinks is coming from.

I see a very good young player. Composed on the ball and starts moves off. But he doesn't 'have everything'. He just doesn't.
