Selling Stones would be more akin to selling Rodwell, in terms of emotional impact. Except we're all pretty sure that Stones will become a great player whereas there was always a question mark over Rodwell.

If Stones goes, he goes, we get a load of money for him, and hopefully Brendan Galloway gets a chance to stake his claim then. If he stays, great.

I'd disagree the club's position had nothing to with it though. We basically lived in 14th-16th for years until Moyes came in.

The point i am making is this is years in the making. Year after year of more n more money each year and we have to sell our prized asset. Back then we didn't have a choice. We were relegation fodder who got lucky and produced one of our own who was sold to help the club.

We should be in a new stadium with Stones captaining our great club but we arent. And were about to lose the crown jewel because of this.

By build around I mean everything in the team goes through them, Which typically has to be a midfielder or an attacker (sorry just my opinion).

As for potential Stones replacement, it's too depressing to think about. We could certainly bring in a couple of quality CBs if we got decent money for him, but neither would go onto be as good as what Stones will.
