Edit " Until BK pops up"
...they tend to coincide those two events: "I had the lad on the phone today begging me to do a deal with Chelsea. What could I do. We were both sobbing in the end. I had to do the right thing by the lad".

Expect that statement about 12 hours after the window slams shut with £40M sitting in kenwrights arse pocket and Everton having made a loan deal for some SPL player on the final day.

Kenwright would not dare do this. He might seem it but is absolutely not stupid. He knows how to keep enough of the fans content, he's been doing it for years. This has happened once with Arteta and he knows it can't happen again. With the lack of summer spending and the increase in people calling for a change in owners/some investment, the fire is rising. If he was to do an Arteta with Stones, it wouldn't just be like putting gasoline on a fire, he'd be setting an entire tanker alight. People would (metaphorically) have his head on a pike within twelve hours.

No, if Stones does go, we will have a replacement for him. We may end up overpaying. The replacement may be gash. He'll have Martinez spinning a piece about how we're "stronger" now than we were at the start. But he won't keep all the money. He can't afford to.

...only over Lescott.....oh and erm, Rooney.

It is what it is - no go on a sale.....until Judas pipes up.[/QUOTE
Do you know you are living in a different era - we came high two seasons ago spent a fortune on Lukarku record transfer last season, and you think we are a soft touch still? its as if you want to sell him imo!

It's not a crystal ball mate. The real frightening thing is that they're actual Kenwright explanations of controversial sales.

I very much doubt we'd spend all the proceeds of any Stones sale. The other prize though will be that Kenwright will retain what's left of the tv revenue and dispense of it for the boards own benefit.

You're all acting like bloody accountants.
"X amount is enough."
"No, no wait till next season we"ll get x amount more."
You know what I want to see?
John, Ross and Rom playing for Everton at 25.
A team worthy of what me dad and grandad watched and all the other arl arses lucky enough to still be sucking air and at Goodison every game.
You lose the dream of that and what is the point?
@Tubey has already taken care of all the logical reasons not to sell.
This one's from the heart yo.
thanks for that sanity .fed up of the amateur analysing now. so we sell Stones, we get 40 mill, we improve the balance of the squad with a few Europeans who don't particularly care who they play for, we improve on last season, we do better (hypothetically) than if we hadn't sold him.. and I won't care. watching a team that is better, more balanced, more effective because we have sold John Stones. I won't care. Because I am not watching John Stones. Some glory hunting, fair weather, greedy Chelsea fans are watching him.
And to paraphrase a famous poem...
First they came for our world class centre half
and I did not speak out because I thought we could buy a playmaker
Then they came for Ross...

Yet you forget to mention his tough stance on Baines - and the top deal he got on Felli took Unt to the cleaners they could have bough Felli cheaper two weeks earlier on his buy out clause - No in defence of BK he has learnt a lot since the bad days as you promote!
