John Stones transfer saga

Some fans honestly don't care as long as they can have their pint on a sat. It's scary, this isn't the club my old man told me about when I was growing up

What are fans like you doing about it though, other than having a go on an internet forum?

Have you ever thought it's better to engage rather than scold?

This is the biggest problem with our club, the fan base is not united in any way shape or form on how we should go about our future. Rather than us all coming together and trying to find a compromise, it's fans from each end of the spectrum tearing strips off one another

If we all banded together we probably could effect change. We could force AGM's back and get supporters groups shares in the club so that they could attend. We could petition the club to sort the ground issue out. We could orchestrate social media campaigns to batter radio stations and newspapers when they put forward damaging stories about the club

But until one side extands the olive branch, this will never happen and we'll be right back where we were, at each others throats and sniping on the internet

You can make a difference mate, but you need to come at this from another angle. Until you and people with your opinions do that, the people who think things aren't as bad as your making out will not be prepared to look at things differently. They'll continue to see you as a lunatic fringe. Meanwhile, you'll continue to see them as people with their heads in the sand. And nothing will change. Ever

Food for thought

Take a step back for a sec. The Guardian "story" was written by Steve Bremner, formerly of the S*n. There's not a single quote in there. I have no doubt Chelsea want him, why wouldn't they, but no point going OTT cos some ex-tabloid hack wants to generate some more hits for the Guardian website - which has gone from bad to worse for stuff like this recently. Jamie Jackson and Daniel Taylor basically sell players to United every week on that site.

I don't think Stones would push for a move - it's just whether our brilliant (ahem) board have their heads turned IMHO.

Sorry mate but being self sufficient is not relying on TV money which makes up an alarming percent of our total revenue, by the turn of the decade we will have the worse most inefficient ground in the league bar 1 or 2 recently promoted teams at that time. We have spent 4 million quid so far on the back of finishing 11th last season, when everyone acknowledges its better for your squad to complete a full pre-season together where as we are currently 20 days away from the start of the season, we have 2 CB's in the first team squad, no creativity in midfield, 1 striker of note a poor goalkeeper. And 3 if our best players are being linked with other clubs Macarthy stones Mirallas.

And you think we are on the rise? I'll have pint of what you're on. We are just existing, an that's why papers try selling our players because they know the make up of the club.

Sorry but can you please explain why relying on TV Monday is not a means to being self sufficient? Of course it is.

I already mentioned the ground and that it is the most pressing matter. Most clubs are only now moving to new grounds, I put it to you we won't be far behind.

Lets judge the squad and our transfer dealings come the end of the window. I don't care for Twitter rumours and hypotheticals.

I think it would be decent if we got £36.5 million plus Victor Moses and Ramires, and first right of refusal on the next loan deal for Falcao from Monaco.

Got to wonder what the young lad is feeling at the minute, probably has some slick haired ballbag agent ringing his ears about how much cash he could make at Chelsea. He's not an Everton fan, so the opportunity to go to Chelsea must be hugely tempting.

Hopefully he'll hold off handing in a transfer request and make Chelsea smash the transfer record for him and he'll leave with his head held high, or even better, he'll tell them to do one, he will be at a league winning club in the future for sure though.
