John Stones transfer saga

Why blame agents? I know plenty of people who aren't footballers who choose to make career moves without an agent.

Maybe John Stones wants to leave or Maybe he just doesn't want to stay.

If he's ambitious then maybe he's weighing up the best case scenario at Everton this season and the best case scenario at Chelsea and deciding on that basis.

It's possible isn't it?

Please can you tell me why you are impersonating me and using my username?

Hey folks I'm from the shed end and today this person has signed up and appears to be impersonating me. The username is I have used for years yet thus person has signed up today and using it. I find it very odd.

dafuq?

MODS!!!!!!!!!!

The difference is players don't leave in the middle of their contract like they do in football.
Sure they do - they push for trades. We just don't do the money for player thing, probably because of our salary caps and players unions.

It's less common, largely due to salary caps - the best players get PAID by their club, regardless of the club. So they have less reasons to push. It comes down to branding and chance to win (which is far less stratified due to salary caps).

So it comes down to the best players that have designs on creating a brand, which is easier to do in the largest markets. But it is far less common, because players like Stones don't have as strong financial/competitive reasons to leave.

So they're all prepared to lose huge amounts of money just out of the goodness of their hearts even though they'd actually have that money anyway?

They're more than prepared to lose out on 500k - 1m when they realise doing so will net them far more than the 500k - 1m they are supposedly losing out on. It just wouldn't be worth arguing about in these situations, imo. It gets them their move, and they get a pay rise as a result, a pay rise that far exceeds the loyalty bonus.

Erm no. A no trade clause simply means that the club is not allowed to trade them.
..WITHOUT the players consent. The player dictates where he would be amenable to going with a no trade clause. If someone I Kansas City has a no trade clause and wants to ONLY go to N.Y., he will waive his no trade clause to ONLY go to N.Y.

Does this really change anything though? Martinez said in that press conference before the City game that whether or not he had but in a transfer request wouldn't change matters, he would not be sold.

It was said that Stones was not for sale, which is a bit different.

Question mate - would you blame Roberto in the slightest for walking off the back of this?

I actually don't believe he's had any input on this whatsoever. I think he's been badly double-crossed by Kenwright and Bobby has been woefully naive about how business is done at Everton.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he did, tbh. I wonder if the board know something he doesn't.

Erm no. A no trade clause simply means that the club is not allowed to trade them.

In North American sports, a no-trade clause generally means the player's list of teams that he doesn't want to go to.

It normally doesn't have much to do with a team's ability, though. It's more about going to a big market or attractive place to live.

They're fairly common in basketball, but you don't see them as much in football, baseball, and hockey.

If we sell him i feel like im done with Everton this year. If i feel like that, what do the players who havent invested in and love the club feel like seeing him go? Its a joke, absolute joke.

I just dont understand why he has put transfer request in to sit on his arse and ruin his chances of starting in the Euros ffs

Not just that, we need the time to spend the cash.

Just broom this Judas quickly and get buying players.
I don't always agree with your views mate, but appreciate your consistent utilitarianism. Unfortunately, I suspect the accounts for this financial year will see a massively adverse movement in working capital (ie increase in debtors) which will manifest itself cash-wise in next year's "other operating costs".
