John Stones transfer saga

I was a teenager when we sold Rooney. A lot more optimistic as a person.

This one is going to hurt my interest in football I fear.

Seems illogical to spend so much time and money on something so hopeless. We can't even hang onto a 21 year old FFS?

I love Everton. But I hate our board and I hate football. (Not the sport but the "business.")

I mean honestly what are the rest of us even DOING in this league? Thousands of quid a year we spend to give the top 4 some warm up in between CL games.

Anyway ... I still wouldn't sell him unless we get 50m. Or sell him for 35m. Who cares. Either way we're doomed. Pick your poison.

You know nothing John Stones.

In the US do talented basketball/american football players push for transfers to other clubs ?

Yes and no. A 21 year old under contract? Never. It would be impossible. In all major US sports you don't hit unrestricted free agency (when you can sign for any club) until your mid-20's. For example my hockey club has one of the best players in the league (highest goal scorer in the league many years) and his first realistic chance to play for any other team comes next year at 26 years old.

He started playing for us at 18. We had EIGHT YEARS in which the idea of him playing for any other team was essentially unthinkable and impossible (not literally impossible but it's incredibly, incredibly rare and would cost the "buying" (trading) club so much that it's not worthwhile even for a superstar).

Guess Moyes parting words for him now seem all too real mate

Was just going to post that mate about Moyes.

Time for Martinez to make a bit of history for himself at Everton and tell Stones he's an absolute beaut of the highest order for handing a request in and stick him in the reserves for a couple of months. If Martinez does that, he will have the backing of the majority of fans I reckon because we simply can't be having a kid think he's outgrown this club after barely a season and a half of togger and we can't be letting the board accept it because we know that's there summer transfer war chest sorted with probably 3 days to go.

If we sell him i feel like im done with Everton this year. If i feel like that, what do the players who havent invested in and love the club feel like seeing him go? Its a joke, absolute joke.

I just dont understand why he has put transfer request in to sit on his arse and ruin his chances of starting in the Euros ffs

He won't be sat on the bench and he won't ruin his chances of starting in anything.

When a team who just won the league come knocking there's absolutely nothing illogical about saying yes please. Careers in football are short and Stones could suffer a career ruining injury at any time. It's all well and good talking about what is 'best for him' but he's clearly good enough to be starting for Chelsea.

People on Twitter still refusing to even entertain the idea Kenwright is responsible for the state we're in. Nothing will change, and it constantly amazes me how passive Everton fans aren't because "Bill's a Blue"...
...stopped reading there.

Is the state we are in and Stones' transfer request one and the same then? Everyone is to blame?

Forget about the people on Twitter. It will be the people in the ground when Chelsea hammer us that Bill will have to worry about.
