John Stones transfer saga

..yes they do. The difference is that they don't typically sign new contracts when traded and their old one is null/void.
Im saying that in American sports, you can't just "bid" for someone in the middle of their contact. The club can try to trade for them.

Question mate - would you blame Roberto in the slightest for walking off the back of this?

I actually don't believe he's had any input on this whatsoever. I think he's been badly double-crossed by Kenwright and Bobby has been woefully naive about how business is done at Everton.
It's not even an issue. He's a professional. He'll be here for a long time yet.

TBH, I think it strengthens Martinez position. He's the idealist let down; he's also the manager struggling manfully to get us wins after being shafted. That's how it worked out for Smith, and that's how it'll work out again.

In North American sports, a no-trade clause generally means the player's list of teams that he doesn't want to go to.

It normally doesn't have much to do with a team's ability, though. It's more about going to a big market or attractive place to live.

They're fairly common in basketball, but you don't see them as much in football, baseball, and hockey.
Baseball and hockey are pretty common these days, mostly only for high level talent. Almost NEVER in the NFL even tho Philip Rivers just got one with the chargers

I don't always agree with your views mate, but appreciate your consistent utilitarianism. Unfortunately, I suspect the accounts for this financial year will see a massively adverse movement in working capital (ie increase in debtors) which will manifest itself cash-wise in next year's "other operating costs".
They're carpetbaggers. Maybe more people will come to accept they are the enemy - or should I say ALL will now realise that.

It's a bit of a disgrace that Everton have left the fans waiting on this for 2 hours, WBA had the decency to Inform their fans.

WBA informed their fans that the TR was rejected. If the same happens here no doubt we will get a statement later. If we hear nothing then we can assume that negotiations with Chelsea have begun.

Prepare for this to drag on till the end of the window though.

Until we get replacements lined up, he won't go. So we'll reject his request, get players lined up, sell for £34mill plus add ons, bring in other players.

This will be the way of it

ok mate.

@Tubey can you sort this fella out....

Is tubey a mod?

I know this is really strange and ai know I can't copyright a username but it's very weird this person signs up today of all days and posts with my name. I am honestly not here to cause any aggro I just find it a bit unnerving especially with the PMs he's sent me.
