John Stones transfer saga

Shades of Rooney this, really am gutted he's done this, it should not make a blind bit of difference to us, he has 4 years left and we should not be bullied into selling him and having no time to bring in quality players to boost the squad.

Yet we all know our board, they love getting a big fee with no time to spend it.

We still hold the cards in my opinion. Turn it down, it's too late in the window now and you absolutely now that the manager won't get all the money, this late on. Tell him he can go next season, after the Euros, highest bidder takes him.

The player may want to go but he can't start sulking because he'll be playing for a place in the England team for the Euros. Ball is in our court, hopefully Martinez sticks to his comments about refusing a transfer request.

So... you don't blame the club for...

Actually, you know what, cba essay writing right now, do what you want mate, clap away.
There are lots of things that I would blame this club for, but John Stones putting in a transfer request is not one of them. That is something he decided to do. I've not seen or heard anything, from anyone in the club that we were prepared to countenance selling him. Blame the club for things they do wrong. Not all bad news is at their door.

we are a completely rudderless ship aint we ?

the lack of ambition showed in getting transfers in has hardly shouted 'stay here we are going places' to our talent.
now with protest groups getting more vocal and stones saying he wants to leave + the tidal wave of fans anger over this whole transfer window is hardly going to entice players to come here either.

Chelsea wins , stones wins , the everton board wins and the history of everton and its fans get shafted.

he is under contract , the board have to decline his request. if they accept it , then they show their true colours.
a bubbling cauldron of hate is primed for kenwright earl elstone Martinez Chelsea mourinho john stones and his agent.
this is a dangerous moment for everton and the people running it imo.
I predict a riot

So to clarify, you don't blame the club at all for not sitting down with the player and talking to him for the last month this has been happening, and truly believe John Stones has kept his desire to go to Chelsea a complete secret until this afternoon?

You honestly believe that? Really?

Read the board thread, ignore the conspiracies and screaming.

The board is a serious problem, even outside of the madness.

i fully understand they arnt the best and also i wasnt expecting a fantastic response to my comment but its boring me, i just want to enjoy actually watching football again without people (including myself) moaning all the time.

So there should be. Won't happen though.

Imagine the fume on here if this place had been available on 22nd December 1971 - that fateful day when Catterick sold Alan Ball to Arsenal? Only those of a certain age will remember the pain of that day.

So, so, so true that mate.
I was in school that day and my teachers could see how much the news was hurting me and a couple of other Blues.
