John Stones transfer saga

He won't be sat on the bench and he won't ruin his chances of starting in anything.

When a team who just won the league come knocking there's absolutely nothing illogical about saying yes please. Careers in football are short and Stones could suffer a career ruining injury at any time. It's all well and good talking about what is 'best for him' but he's clearly good enough to be starting for Chelsea.

Mourniho wont start him. He may well rotate with someone but he will not play week in week out. No chance

The buck has to stop at the board - they are custodians of the club - who else can be to blame ???

yes but i wouldnt say Kenwright is to blame, hes done alot for this club and picked us up from terrible finacial difficulty and made us into a consistant top 7/8 club. the only thing in my mind which he has failed at is selling us but i wpouldnt blame the guy for stabalising the club from where we were when he took us over. everton fans quickly remember the good times but also quickly forget the trouble we were in, in the 90s

Please can you tell me why you are impersonating me and using my username?

Hey folks I'm from the shed end and today this person has signed up and appears to be impersonating me. The username is I have used for years yet thus person has signed up today and using it. I find it very odd.

Why blame agents? I know plenty of people who aren't footballers who choose to make career moves without an agent.

Maybe John Stones wants to leave or Maybe he just doesn't want to stay.

If he's ambitious then maybe he's weighing up the best case scenario at Everton this season and the best case scenario at Chelsea and deciding on that basis.

It's possible isn't it?

Lads, we really don't give a monkeys who the real <whatever> is. Sort it out between yourselves via messaging.

So lets say he goes for £40m - 15% goes to Barnsley leaves us with £34m = £31m profit - You need at least £15m for a decent CB these days add £5-£8m extra because teams know how desperate we are = spend £21m of it on someone unproven in the prem, likely aging.. Great job Everton. Use the last £10m to buy Lennon for £7m and pocket the £3m

Disgrace, I hope all the fans revolt all season if he goes and isnt adequately replaced

So to clarify, you don't blame the club at all for not sitting down with the player and talking to him for the last month this has been happening, and truly believe John Stones has kept his desire to go to Chelsea a complete secret until this afternoon?

You honestly believe that? Really?

do you honestly believe we havent spoken to John Stones?

It's not really win win is it...

We will be left with one centre back who has played in the premier league and what use it £40m when its not all going to be reinvested in the team ?

Do you honestly think we don't have contingency plans in place? We'll have targets in mind.

To think some even thought he would want to stay, he's only been here 2 years and then Mourinho, Champions league footy, challenging for the Title, playing with boss footballers not to mention tripling your wages and living in London comes along. He was only ever going to want to leave, it was just a case of if he would make them feelings known publicly and now he has. Good luck to the lad, I would have liked to see him stay but we'll get decent money for him and as long as we spend it I don't think we'll do to bad out of this. Whilst the lad looks as though he'll end up a player at the moment he's not even the best defender at Everton.

If he has to go, we need big money and quickly. Even if he has handed in a request, I still don't think he's the Lescott-type, who will sulk around the place and stink it out. I think he'd still give his best for the club, even if it was just to up his own value.

Very peeved at this. It's a horrible way to end the window - and surprising because of his apparently sound character.
