John Stones transfer saga

Don't get me wrong, I like Stones as much as the next guy, however if they come in with 40 million I'd say let him go. There are several reasons, first is Stones clearly knows he is being sought after and might let it get to his head during the season. (What I think happened to Barkley last season as rumors swirled that Man City wanted him) Second reason, with the money received Everton can splash cash on a decent play maker, another good quality striker and possibly get Ospina. Fill the CB position with a stop gap and use Browning and Galloway off the bench.

I get that we should hold onto our best players but when you have major gaps to fill you may have to rob Peter to pay Paul. Guess we will see in the next few weeks what happens. Just hope Everton don't sell him too close to the end of the window and scramble to find players. Do it now or not at all.

“If tomorrow Everton comes and says ‘at the moment they say we don’t accept this bid’; they don’t say: ‘We don’t accept bids; any bids.’ While they say we don’t accept THIS bid, until 31 August we can improve the bid – one pound more, 10 pounds more, we can improve the bid,” said Mourinho.

This is what I'm concerned about, it sounds like from Mourinho and a bit from what Martinez has said, no one at the club has flat out said "**** off!"

Mourinho should be hung up for this!! Blatant shirts tiring and unsettling tactics!!

*fuuuuuuuuuuume*

It started months a go with Terry saying how good he thought Stones was in that TalkSport interview.

It's just an inevitability now I think. See how well Kenwright can hold his nerve.

So should be pretty simple.

Say no he's not for sale and this all ends.

Yep. Sounds like he's got a massive hard-on for Stones and wants him big time.

Yep, but all he's said was that he's unhappy with their public pursuit. I'm surprised there is nothing on the OS about this considering how official it is and not just paper talk.

Kenwright says CLEAR OFF MOURINHO!!

Its all mind games.

Mourinho is forgetting we're not Liverpool.

Try those games elsewhere.

Quite like Jose's comments to be honest. He wants a firm 'no, not at any price' or they will pursue him. At least we'll know from Roberto's next comments on the topic what is likely to happen.
