John Stones transfer saga

So should be pretty simple.

Say no he's not for sale and this all ends.

That wont happen though will it, as much as Martinez is shouting his mouth off about him not being for sale, if a £40mill bid comes in he wont have a say in the matter. Similar to Moyes and Lescott, Moyes said he wernt for sale and Hughes said City will speak to the people who make the decisions - we all know how that turned out.

This, hate to admit it but I think his head will be turned.

Why? He'll have known Chelsea are interested in him for a while. The other day he said this:

Speaking exclusively to The Straits Times at the Chang Beer fan meet event held at the Intercontinental Singapore Hotel, Stones revealed : "I am very happy to be at Everton for the future.

"My aim right now is to try and nail down a regular spot in this Everton team and hopefully that will take care of playing for England.

"I have to keep learning off the likes of Phil Jagielka and keep progressing at this club."

He's an intelligent, sensible lad, and besides, he knows he'll have the chance for a big move every summer for the next however many years. So why the rush?

Mourinho with his 'We're not making a bid now... we have until September 1st. Will we make another bid? Maybe, maybe not...' stuff.

So tedious.

Hey Mourinho - why don't you just make another bid if you like the player so much?

If we've not said some magic words to stop you bidding, why not - you know - bid again?

Mourhino will make bids and run his mouth no matter what the board says. Fact is teams like Chelsea get their man as they don't stop if they don't get the answer they won't. All Mourhino's comments show is how desperate he is to land Stones and how dirty he is willing to play.

The way for the club to deal with this

Is to get Martinez and Stones out in front of the cameras and for Martinez to really take the pee and to be laughing a lot at any talk of Chelsea.

Job - done.

Kill them with mockery and scorn.

thing is, there would be a price for virtually ANY player that would be logical to accept

I mean would you turn down 60 mill? 100 mill?

In all honesty, if he did go I think he'd walk into that Chelsea team.

He's better than Cahill in my opinion and he's probably just better than Zouma.

But I still don't wanna lose the guy, and unless £40mill comes in I can't see him going.
