John Stones

Papers linked Stones to United, Chelsea and Arsenal for anything from £20-30m.

Loads of comments from the glory fans of said clubs, especially United fans, saying "What a ripoff, £10m and no more."

Do they forget that Ferdinand cost £30m? Stones is the best English CB prospect since Rio and I'd say he can be even better. Based on that, £30m is probably cheap.

Not that I want him to be, nor will he be sold at any price.

I am ridiculously excited about Stones, It's mad how young he is, yet he hardly fooks up, He's getting better in the air, he's tall, and putting more beef on, fast, amazing distribution, he's got everything you want really, and even if he does make a mistake he's young and we're not under moyes anymore where he'll be slaughtered, he can make mistakes and learn from them, not like he makes mistakes often like, and as well as that he seems like a down to earth lad, loves the fans and wants to be a fans favourite, and to me, it seems he's here to stay, by his and martinez's attitude. I f'ing love Everton at the moment, we're on the rise, no more of that 'we have to sell to bigger clubs, its only right to let the player move on' shoyt from moyes, this is martinez, it's whats best for the club.

This.

He's made one or two big-ish mistakes and we've been lucky enough not to be punished for them.

Mirror that to Ross Barkley giving away the pen against Blackburn (a penalty that was missed anyway) and not seeing first team action for about a year.

The lad is class. He's my age which is frightening seeing some of the top athletes he's up against.

Would not sell for any price, he's a big part of what we're trying to build on.

...this is getting me giddy. I'm old, he's young and potentially the best Centre Back I've seen playing for us. Don't suppose there's much chance of me collecting on the £5 I placed on him @ 66-1 to get into the World Cup squad, but he's fully justifying my optimism.

I reckon he will go mate actually, the media have started the hype with him and when that happens the manager normally caves into it, plus outside of Cahill and Jags we don't have a established 3rd/4th cb in the squad - and

Best odds you can get now varies from 6-1 (shortest) to 16-1 (longest) on him making the squad mate so not a bad punt their from you

.....that would be brilliant. Suspect, however, that Jones and Smalling are ahead of him and more likely to make it. Withdrawals through injury might be my best chance. Jones, Smalling and Stones provide cover at RB which is a bonus.

Phil Jones has an amazing ability to either injure himself, an opponent or a team mate. So would not discount him singlehandedly ruling out both himself and Smalling in a freak training ground accident.

....that's funny, but I know what you mean. He is an awkward so and so. Don't want to see anybody getting a bad injury, but a little ligament or hamstring injury in the lead up might give me chance. Regardless, I'm chuffed that we have him and he's giving me a run for my money.

....I checked last week and you could still get a bit of 20s, so the odds are shortening. Need him to score a worldy dink following a series of length of the pitch one-twos!!

Hate that the links have begun already. Gonna keep my fingers crossed his is not the type of personality to be wooed by easily written headlines. Want him to take a leaf out of McCarthy's book not Zaha's

Every day he will get to work with people that will point out that playing time is so important.

Not only are there youngsters like Lukaku & Deulofeu who are with "bigger" teams but have to move here to get game time but there is Ross who can attest that having a supportive manager can make a difference between you grabbing headlines or catching splinters in your bum.

And that is even before he talks to the likes of Barry, Gibson, Piennar and Howard.
Edit and Mirallas, he turned down Arsenal as Everton offered more chance to play
