Whether Stones or Barks are in or out of the WC squad it was a sensible decision by Roberto today to leave them out and protect them from over-stretching themselves.They have nothing else to prove so fingers crossed for both of the lads.

I had a dream this morning that Barkley and Stones were in the WC squad. Think Barkley's definitely going but if Hodgson has any foresight, then he should take Stones as well (even if it's just to get him ready for Euro 2016).

We missed his distribution today.
Jags and Distin are a great centre back partnership but it says something about what a talent this lad is that I'd find it very hard not to start him, even when all three are fit.

Wonder how much we will see 3 at the back next season with Jags the central CB and Stones & Distin on either side. Thought Stones looked the most comfortable of the 3 we used in the city game.

Don't think he will use it in every game but he seems to like the formation especially if facing two strikers like City.

i'm not a fan of carrick, but he's the best DM england have available, he's way better at that role than gerrard. barry's better than gerrard as well, but he's the captain so of course he gets in.
