Totally agree mate. And do you know what mate I think that goes for the whole lot of our lads who play for England. No up there own arses kind of thing. For what its worth imo Baines stood out like the class player he is tonight, oozed confidence, class and style and workrate. When Barkley came on I was just thinking don't pass it to any meff as he's infinitely better than most of em put together. Stones at rb? Is right Hodgson you old mincing beaut, I still expected him to score and give Hodgson a nice v sign knowing that Jones will be going to the World Cup. England for me is an inconvenience to the pure love and buzz I get from Everton, but when our lads are playing its great to see them not only do well, but look like the only lads who have got a clue how to play football with the other bells they have the unfortunate pleasure they have to play with until they stick on our royal blue jersey again.
So..why did you say Lineker made a 'crap prediction' ? Baines was superb last night, and Stones made only one slight error, which the commentator jumped on right away. To be fair, I thought that Welbeck looked lively and linked well with Baines, so I'm not really against signing him, if its on the cards. Maybe Hodgson (why do you have to say 'mincing'?) was keeping Barkley back for the Miamai games, and I know he only got ten minslast night which is no time at all, but he still managed to lose the ball a couple of times, although he was making himself available with not a lot of end product. I think Barkley will be hard pressed to start in the first WC game, for some reason he looks a bit 'leggy' compared with the other midfielders, except Gerrard, who's legs have gone anyway. Jagiela got his goal, and was very pleased about it, but still needs games for fitness.

Andy Townsend never misses his chance. Earlier Gerrard ballooned a high, floaty free kick to the back post, Andy says nothing. A few minutes later Baines puts one onto Welbecks head with a much better delivery and we get 'a bit flat that one from Baines, he needs to whip it in with more pace so the striker gets power in his header'.

Such a bell

I said Lineker made a crap prediction because he said "I THINK" Stones is better than Jones. Do you think that Steve? I bet you don't because "YOU KNOW" as well as I do that Stones is infinitely better than that yard dog Jones. Second point I didn't mean to say mincing it was supposed to say minging, the joys of typing on a mobile mate lol :)

Not Glen Johnson.....
Awful player, did you see the quotes mid week, when he said he always knew he was the best RB in England! He's only playing becaus Walker is out and he is not much better.

Stones though class made up for the lad making his debut.

F***ing Hell! What is it with these nobs in the media?! Where do they get these dinosaurs from?

On the other hand, what a season for Stones!!! I am so made up for the lad. I had a feeling he was good but no idea he would make such an impact with the club and then cap it all off with his first cap for England.
Well done, John;)

...I wonder what the other players and staff have made of him during his few weeks with England. The fact that a stand-by player was given playing time ahead of a major tournament makes me think he's impressed.

Because Stones wasn't in the original 23? man squad and only on stand by, can woy still choose him over Jones if jones is fully fit or does he have to take a fully fit Jones ?.

He doesn't need to have finalised his squad for FIFA's benefit yet, so he could mix things up, but it'd be harsh. The idea of announcing the 23 + 7 rather than a provisional 30 was so that everyone could play their part without worrying about whether they might be in or out.

He is obviously not expected to go being #24. I know that he and Flangeahan are going to Miami which is strange in the case of the InbRed one as it isn't Halloween.

@PeoplesBlog1878: “@TerryBatcheler: Baffles me how John Stones, gets in the England squad over James Tomkins who has had a fantastic season”
