John Stones

I don't think its us being misinterpreted tbh mate, just that OP on that forum is a bad bellend and gets called just as much by most of the Sunderland fans who know Stones and what a top prospect he is. Honestly, if Jones is fit he needs to take one for the lads like on escape to victory where the keeper gets his arm broken so Stallone can get in the squad. Jones needs his hamstring to twang west and let Stones take his rightful place.

Maybe if the wind changes Jones face will stick like that therefore ensuring Stones rightful place.

I think(!) what Lineker meant was that in his opinion Stones should be in the 23 and not Jones, and most people would agree with that. Stones still makes the odd positional error but is far superior to JOnes, who I've never thought much of anyway. I think its just the way Linaker said it, he definitely agrees with most people. You won't often find a pundit saying outright that one player is better than another, they will always give a 'tempered opinion'. So..why is Hodgson a 'minging beaut' ? Smartly dressed, doesn't smell, obviously had a wash......;)
Roy Hodgson is a grade A whopper Steve, you know it, I know it and the whole world will soon know it as well. The man absolutely bores me with his interviews, tactics, substitutions, evaluations, the way he makes a cup of tea and so on.

LOL. Why can't you just think he is the wrong choice for the job and state why? Why does he have to be a whopper or a mong or the most tedious man who ever lived?
So far, he has made a couple of brave calls in terms of squad selection, that certainly other managers wouldn't have. He could do with being braver again, but thus far I personally can't fault him.

I'm not too keen to call anyone a mong tbh mate and I think I've pretty much stated why I have a dislike for him covering parts of the job that I believe are important such as tactics, substitutions, general persona during interviews. Just not my cup of tea tbh, a safe option as England manager I would say.

If Stones played for Man Utd, its a slam dung that he'd be on the side. It doesn't matter that Utd finished 7th, the bias is always toward the monied clubs. Its hurts us tremendously. Its hard enough to keep players. All players know that if they want to play for the national team, they'll have a better chance of getting picked on the Utd/Chelsea/City bench rather than starting for us.

Some ridiculous over reactions here. Stones has played 90 minutes less than 10 times in the Prem, yet it's absolutely outrageous that 2 lads with winners medals and a lot more experience get the nod ahead of him? Grow up.

Stones has done wonderfully well to make the standby list, and if he keeps working hard and improving then his time to shine will come.

To be honest we're behaving like some of the clubs we despise with Stones. Clearly he's an outrageous talent but he's only just started playing in the prem. How must the likes of Shawcross, Dawson, Caulker feel? Not only have two United subs with terrible seasons got ahead of them, but some kid from Everton has made the list ahead of players playing well every week season after season.

I'm sure he quite likes you;) So go on.....you can't knock Hodgsons experience internationally, his availability and handling of the media, and his steady integration of younger players into the England set up, so who would you prefer as England Manager at this moment in time ?

Bad examples there pal. Shawcross and Dawson got nothing on Stones. He will be a colossus for England over the next 10 years. A team like Germany would recognise that and throw him in for the tournament exp. I could understand you arguing that Curtis Davis or Caulker could be in there for consistent performances, but would still favour stones getting the nod for the arguments above.

Dawson and Shawcross though...
