Harry Kane's only 21 mate. Where would Spuds be this season without him ?
If they're good enough, they're old enough[/QUOTE

....agree, I posted on the Barkley thread that Alan Ball was MoM in a World Cup final at that age then came to us and was an immediate influence. The truly great players are like that.

Indeed, a similar situation with Spurs. I don't disagree with your statement, nor am I having a go at the club or its situation.

I think he's a remarkable player and his influence is a credit to both his ability and personality even at such a young age.

Therefore, maybe embarrassed was the wrong word; possibly too strong a word. Nevertheless, it still sparks some neurons in my mind.

I just find his influence somewhat remarkable. You do not get many defences (with three other players) relying on a young centre-back.

When he isn't there it's worrying. So, maybe embarrassing is the word: not about him but the whole defence situation.

to be fair the Barnsley guy's had total confidence John would become an England player and you were right. Glad you have another potential superstar, hope you get to a few years out of him before the vultures circle.

In my opinion a bloke who sits near me at Oakwell summed him up perfectly during what turn out to be his last home game for us,

" If Stones was Italian, Italy would win World Cup three times before he retired at 40 he's that good "

Italy would probably know better how to use him than England anyways.

He still makes his fair share of mistakes too though, chaps. Looks good on the ball, occasional lapses off it. Story of the whole team, tbf.

Did you see that evidence of 'titting about'? did you see it? Valencia should have scored, that was a player shackled by managerial instructions, sometimes row Z is the best option. Pragmatism. Martinez is simply not getting the message. Safety first FFS.

While Stones is young he still gets caught on the ball regularly is bullied at corners ,is lacking in positional sence, the way he was caught out before his handball decision was a schoolboy error. In my opinion this lad has lots to learn and he needs to do it fast

It's the most difficult position for any youngster to play, it's not a great situation that he's important to us already.

Without doubt he'll make cock ups that cost us points between now and the end of the season.
