John Stones

You could be right in regards to Chelsea, Man City are blerts though, so it wouldn't surprise me to see a player of Stones' quality getting splinters in his arse there.

They are desperately in need of repairing their defence though. I'm massively confident Stones won't be going anywhere, City haven't a clue in the transfer market and will probably buy some overrated La Liga plodder, while Chelsea won't be able to offer him guaranteed first team football for at least another year. He's a smart lad, he'll stay.

....fortunately he recently signed a new contract but I suspect he is still only a mid range earner at Everton. If he continues to progress it could be worth the club rewarding him with a further enhancement and contract extension next season.

Anything about injury (?)

Right now he's probably the player I'd least like to see leave. He's just awesome.

The best part is he's only scratching the surface. I wish Ross had made the kind of progress on the pitch in relation to ability that Stonesy has. Within a couple years he'll be the best defender in the league bar none. If we ever sell him, I hope it's to Barcelona or something and not the daddy warbucks of the PL.

That's exactly what people should be telling him. He will be good enough and as a footballer surely you want to play at the very highest level.

He's a smart lad and knows this, by all accounts. Though I don't think he'll be here in two years time if he continues to develop like he is and we continue to be where we are. We're a selling club, and that'll only change if a big money buyer comes in. I think most fans realise that - even though it's not pleasing at all!
He's still only 21. Another 3 years would be my hope which means we should definitely think of a new contract around January.

I would just like to hold on to Stones, Rom, and Ross long enough for them to reach their peak. Everyone sells, but for once can't we get at least a few of the best years out of our young players?

Very doubtful.

I keep saying it, but nobody appears to be listening.

Manchester City need homegrown players, we have at least 2 that they would be very interested in.
