As a barnsley lad myself I had to post on your site, firstly I want to say what a brilliant season everton are having, its always the first result I now look for, secondly what a class manager you have, he comes across as a genuinely nice bloke who appears not to flap as a calming demeanor about himself and his willing to give the young lads a chance instead of paying stupid money, what most other managers seem to do, and finally the barnsley lad himself, stonesy, a lot of the young lads who leave lower league teams to go to the p l are sometimes forgotten never to be seen again, most barnsley fans knew that wouldnt be the case with stonesy, what a class act that lad is for someone so young and will only keep improving, I know there is talk of " he should be in the w c squad" why not? Walcott was in as a 17 year old when our midfield was full of quality, how ever our defence t b h is the weakest we have had for years, people say yeah but its the world cup, he's playing in one of the best leagues in the world, I know I am being biased but what a diamond you have and he ain't even polished yet, look after him everton, all the best for the rest of the season, and I really hope you get that c l place

cheers lad, always nice to hear from other fans. Something that is often thrown around by football fans is "he could be world class". However when I hear that about young John Stones I often agree, he could be world class. His reading of the game is superb for a 19yr old, and his passing range is accurate and strong. He's capable of bringing the ball out at feet, and when you combine all that, hes the ball playing boss center half that we need to play our footie. But hes only 19 ffs. Occasionally he makes mistakes, but he almost always redeems himself, either by a beautifully timed recovering tackle, or with a midfield splitting pass. As for Bobby, he is Boss. Post often lad, always nice to hear an alternate opinion on here. Good luck in avoiding relegation lad

He Commands - that's what John Stones does. Always wants the ball, always looking to do something with it. He's as big a prospect and will be as important in shaping our club's fortunes as young Mr Barkley, imo.

If John Stones played for West Ham he'd already be being hyped up as better than Bobby Moore by the press. If he was at United he wouldn't get a game. If he was at Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea or City he'd already be on the plane to Brazil. It took Baines about two years longer than it should to get his rightful place in the England side because he only played for Everton. Stuff the press they have shown in recent weeks they loved us as plucky little Everton chugging along to 6th or 7th year in year out but as soon as we threaten the top table they turn on us.

Stones is boss, he is ours and the papers trying to sell him off already is a joke.

He's a genuine ball playing centre back. And he's making less and less mistakes the more he plays, and best of all we've been lucky enough not to concede from one of them so far.

Although this is premature, he reminds me of, and hopefully can become as good as Vincent Kompany. Class under pressure and with the ball at his feet, commands the back line well, and his all round defensive game just top class. In time I think he will be.

Seriously given his age I would rate him better than Barklay, now I realise that could be controversial but having said that it is just my opinion.

thats the key to his and barkley's success, too often you hear this not ready nonsense and inferior players picked and make mistakes but are ignored largely because they are experienced, theres only one way talented kids are going to learn and thats by showing them a bit of faith and playing them
