What a change in some people's opinions in a mere 6 months
He needs dropping. The lads head is all over the place.
How do you discern 'rest' from 'drop'?
People saying Stones being dropped wouldn't be good for him need to think for a minute. Clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, etc are all interested in him. If you think for one second they will worry about what dropping him will do to his head or ego when he is on their team, are crazy. If he is that fragile at Everton he better stay put because with the money these clubs are going to pay for him, comes big expectations. He will not be afforded the mistakes at those clubs as he is here.
He doesn't need to be dropped. Especially not now. It's the worst time to drop him.
If he gets dropped, for such a big game after a poor game, then that is the story. The media will be all over it like a rash mate, and it will be blown all out of proportion.
Also, the self doubt would then kick in with him, potentially.
He isn't at Real or Barca yet, he's here, and we're Everton, not Real or Barca. He's one of our best players, who has had a poor game. He needs to be given the chance to bounce back and there's no better way than being able to do that by playing at the highest level a few days later.
I'll agree to disagree. No one is above being dropped. Funes Mori will be dropped for Jags on Wednesday when it should be Stones sitting out.
My point is if he can't handle criticism here or handle being benched here then maybe he should get his head out of the clouds dreaming of a champions league club. Because he will be benched without hesitation there.
Martinez has given him too much freedom to make mistakes without being held accountable. That's a huge problem. He needs to learn when to play around with the ball inside his own 18 and when to hit it into row z. He does too much of the former and needs to do more of the latter.
No he isn't, but now is not the time to drop him. Unless you love the media circus dribbling at the thought of a riff between one of our best players/Europe's hottest property and the fans/manager.Stones isnt to big or too good for everton, he shouldnt be undroppable.
Been way too careless for a while now
Tbh not arsed what the media think, just want to see players picked on merit and hopefully some decent results. No he isn't, but now is not the time to drop him. Unless you love the media circus dribbling at the thought of a riff between one of our best players/Europe's hottest property and the fans/manager.
