John Stones

I disagree.

Chelsea bid £40m for Stones. By anyone's opinion that's a truly world class figure for a young defender. In fact if you take out the deal for the dodgy Brazilian to PSG it puts Stones virtually top of the pile.

By comparison there have been no serious bids for Barkley.

So if we excuse our opinions either way as biased fans - the football world has already labelled Stones as a world beater.

I'm not doubting Barkley has great skill in beating those initial cluster of opponents but I question whether he will ever have the intelligence or maturity to consistently make the right call at the end of it. As such, if he picks the wrong pass or shoots wildly, then his initial burst of skill is wasted. I think other clubs would.be a lot less tolerant.
So the 11 goals and 8 assists this season isn't having the intelligence to make the right decision?

Yeah I quoted you cos you mentioned Mori, wasnt implying your 1 of the FIFA loving beauts.
Sound mate

Like that boy too but agree he's got some mistakes in his game bit I reckon experience will sort them out but what I do like is he'll play out from the back but he'll stick it out of play or upfield if there's no option reckon Stones could learn from this and 'complete his training'as Darth Vader would say

I love the way Stones plays football, just as much as I love the way Mori just utterly volleys anything that comes near, both players are learning the game, both players will hopefully still be here for many, many years. Jags is not getting any younger sadly, a real defender, body on the line everytime, both players can learn a lot from Jags.

Compared to Hansen by Roy Evans this morning, who apparently made loads mistakes when first in team.
Looking forward to seeing him back in a blue shirt now.

I'm not sure the fans will allow stones to grow as a ball playing defender, our fans perfer the English traditional defender. Plus he transfer request, he will be sold in the su!mer for around 33 million. We will have to buy two defenders in the summer plus a keeper.
Stones was one of the most popular players at the club until recently. His relationship with the fans will improve with his form - same as with almost every other player in the club's history.

It wouldn't do him any harm to earn his way back into the team. He still has a long, long way to go in terms of his development.

John Stones has made a couple of mistakes that some sections of the supporters have picked up on and had a go at him. We all need to remember the
many good/great things he has carried out as a 21 year old in a young inexperienced back four. He is a class act that needs nurturing not crucifying
at the earliest opportunity

Anyone remember the mistakes Kev Ratcliffe made when he first came into the team? I do, and at times he was horrendous, think he got sent off agnst City in the 6th round of the cup when we were 2-1 up. Drew 2 each and lost the replay. John Stones will make mistakes, hes not the finished article just yet but as said previously, we have one hell of a player on our books and Im sure with our support he will become a great player.

.....I thought Ratcliffe played LB when he first broke through and it was only when he reverted to CB that his career took off.

John Stones is still a very young player and like most young players he will make mistakes, some costly(Swansea)..
It isn't the mistakes that will define his career it is learning from and not repeating the mistakes that will determine how good a player he will become.

I think he would have been left out of the team earlier only for the injury to Jagielka.
When he comes back it will be interesting to see if there are changes to the way he plays, even minor ones, like booting the odd ball into touch.

For me, mistakes are usually totally forgivable if they're mere lapses in concentration or brain-farts.

Errors which stem from a foolish and arrogant mindset are harder to overcome.

Stones is a skillful footballer but I've fallen out of love with him (for want of a less pathetic turn of phrase).
