Stonesy will be grand.few games off will do him the world of good.rest the body and mind.bit unlucky with the other injuries in that he was forced to play every game but bit of time off wont do the lad any harm.

Longish article, more at link

Step-overs, shoulder feints and one-on-ones in the penalty area are usually moments that bring young attackers to the world’s attention.

For John Stones, however, his own repertoire of skills have not only marked him out as a special player for England and Everton but a prospect with a truly radical range of abilities compared to the average British centre-back.

John Stones has made a couple of mistakes that some sections of the supporters have picked up on and had a go at him. We all need to remember the
many good/great things he has carried out as a 21 year old in a young inexperienced back four. He is a class act that needs nurturing not crucifying
at the earliest opportunity

To be fair, I think with the interest he's attracting from other clubs, some fans have assumed he's already headed out the doors. I'm not saying it's right, just understandable.

Apparently he is not on big money in his current contract, a fraction of what the big earners are making.
The fact that nearly six and a half months after the close of the summer window that there seems to be no movement whatsoever regarding a new greatly improved is I think the clearest signal the player still wants out.
He was never going to be allowed to leave in January but I think the summer may be different.
Hopefully, the takeover, if it happens, will give young players like Stones, Lukaku etc hope that Everton may progress and challenge for the top honours, apart from that I think he is gone.

We have a true footballing God at the club and people only want to pick holes in him.

Imagine Messi breaking through at Everton, poor lad would have been ruined.

Oh Goaty why do you do this time and time again?

In your internet world everything is a caricature of mad hyperbole. That's just wrong.

Stones is no more infallible than Besic or Barkley are top flight geniuses. Likewise, Osman, Gibson, McGeady and Naismith are/were all half-decent Premier League players for us (okay maybe McGeady didnt get a chance to show it - but he was a gamble on a free so we move on). They are not the rubbish that's not fit for the sole.of your shoe as you like to point out.

I appreciate that you like to play to a crowd and that's fine but with this "crowned getting on Stones' back" it is actually quite important. If Internet behemoths such as your self keep peddling this line then it gets picked up by the media at large and it snowballs and could lead to helping the lad out the back door.

I think Stones is a great player and will surely develop into one of the world's best. I love seeing him in the Royal Blue. But sometimes he does overplay it and this season he's made a number of mistakes. It is not heresy to say that. It's a fact. All perfectly understandable given his age and the media scrutiny that's followed him this season.

This season I've mainly.sat in the Park End and was at the game he supposedly got stick from.the crowd for over playing the ball. It was a nervy crowd plain and simple. It wasn't malicious. If Goat Junior was playing for his school team and started doing a few skills in his own penalty area you'd have your head in your hands, heart beat on hold imploring him to clear his lines. That's all it was with Stones.

The lad is absolute class and may well leave us in the summer. Hopefully if the takeover goes through it might help us in that regard but if not we'll get a top fee and I've confidence in Martinez to invest it wisely. Either way don't help to demonise Everton fans as being incapable of appreciating a great talent.

The point is people concentrating more on poor form and a handful of mistakes over the obvious talent that they see before them.

I mean what the hell is the point of spending all this time watching and reading and writing and obsessing over a sport and a club if you can't be absolutely bowled over by real talent when it comes along.

But no. He misplaced some passes and has an ego....

To be fair, I think with the interest he's attracting from other clubs, some fans have assumed he's already headed out the doors. I'm not saying it's right, just understandable.
I know what your saying but you just know that half the supporters who are slagging him off now probably couldn't even tie there shoelaces when
they were 21 years old. they probably still can't

The thing that makes me mad is that if/when he goes we'll have a load of utter teds saying that 'he didn't care anyway', 'glad he's gone' etc.

Proper melts, some of our fans.

One of the best young players in Europe. Yeh, let's be happy when he leaves.
