John Stones

Agreed

We can use the money to buy a replacement or use one of the other young lads like Galloway, Browning or Pennington

Hoping we just buy a Scott Dann or similar, I can't take any more "adventure" at centre-back, be it youngsters or lads from other countries.

Not fussed about losing Lukaku to be honest. Incredible player obviously but I just can't be arsed with his attitude towards Everton.

Stones though. If he goes I will be absolutely totally gutted. Unique player, great kid, would be absolutely unutterably boss under a new manager who knows how to organise and coach a defence. Thought we had a good chance of selling the new project to him and keeping him until United got Mourinho. Now I'm really pessimistic about it.

Yeah, I think he's off

Both of them actually

Have to try and look at it positively I guess. We'll get a good fee for both to them and hopefully the new manager will put that to use on decent replacements

Just infuriating that Van Dijk has signed that six year contract at Saints. He would have been a great buy in this situation

Jose will get his man this time I think

The question is, do we go out and buy a new first choice CB or do we just promote Pennington in Stone's place? He did well towards the end of the season. Do we roll the dice on him?

we'll get £40mil for Stones if he goes Mikey, we'll be buying a centre back

Frankly I don't care if they leave if they r not interested to play at everton. Putting one out there for the vaults don't think Stones will improve that much to tge extent we thought he would.
50m? SELL! No team in the world needs a 50m centre back. Leicester won the title with Robert Huth and Wes Morgan, both who could probably have been bought for between 5 and 10 million a piece at the start of the season.

If anybody offers anywhere close to 50m we simply have to sell, and use the money to get top genuine top class players in.

I see although Jose is almost in the chair at Man U already mouthing off that Stones is wanted. This is typical of him and does it not break the FA rules?

For me I do not care what price could be asked, he should be kept. He is part of the future renaissance of Everton FC.

I don't like agreeing with this, because somebody like Koeman or De Boer could make Stones absolutely flourish (look at how VVD has done under Koeman at Southampton), but £50m... It would be hard to turn that down. We could buy two £15m centre backs with that money and potentially be stronger with money to spare

Everyone knows we have money now and especially after selling Stones. Any players we go after this summer we will be paying well over the odds for.

If he wanted to manage Stones this badly he could a come here to manage and done it more cheaply. He's not as bright as some make out.

I would happily sell him for 50m, one reason is even thou he might turn out to be amazing, the type of manager who can turn him into that player isnt coming to Everton right now, so we wont see it, but we can see the money and hopfully spend it wise. Stones needs a lot of class players around him, which we dont have and not being in Europe it will be hard to bring them in right now.
Lukaku on the other hand I really dont want to lose

I was told yesterday he had just bought Ashley Young's house and is signing for City.

This was by a City fan though who scouts for them too.
Why he would need to buy Ashley Young's house if he lives in the Cheshire area anyway is anyone's guess.

I personally hope he stays and we make him captain, give him a new deal and get someone in alongside him who can help him grow as well as a manager who can get the best out of him.

Couldnt agree more mate, jags and mori arnt going to grow stones, set him free and let another club find out that hes not the future of england. Hopefully they shell out 40m+, we are not a club that needs a young cb with some potential, we need a solid established cb to partner jags and mori. lukaku is another story, especially with 3 years left on his contract.

That was posted on BM yesterday by someone with strong links to the club. Since Pep was announced he's been saying City are balls deep for Stones and Laporte. Stones and his agent are apparently keen to come too.
Not sure about him myself. I think for the money he'd cost we could get better elsewhere. Admittedly I haven't watched him as much as you lads, but his mistakes always seem to get brushed under the carpet and allowances made for him because of his age and nationality.
If Mourinho still wants him it could turn into a bit of a willy waving contest between him and Pep, with a bidding war that neither club or managers would want to lose. Whether that's good news for you depends on if you want to sell and what you spend the money on.
