I am not faulting them. I'm asking what they are made of.

I'm saying OK come on show us how good you really are. No hiding. No finger pointing. Step up. Be an Alex Young, an Alan ball, a Peter Reid.

The likes of Trevor Steven, Kevin Sheedy and Adrian Heath didn't walk into a top 4 team able to show off their talent. they got into the trenches at a then struggling team and made it happen.

Look at the 1984/87 team. All men. Real men willing to fight.
That team is untouchable mate and had the best keeper in the world. Worth a good 10 points a season minimum at a guess alone.
We aren't too far off. Maybe 3 quality signings away. Will our guns be patient though and wait?

The best keeper ever and my favourite Evertonian player.

It must be hard for young blues to get their heads around the fact and it is a fact that probably the greatest ever Goalkeeper played for us and that fans like you and I used to see the best in the world - the best in the world - every week.

These boys don't have the once in a lifetime luck to have Big Nev behind them so they have to try all the harder if they want to be compared. They have the talent. Do they have the guts, the desire, the sheer balls to be a great Everton team.

We will see.

I think Stones will 100% be here until the summer and then he'll see what offers are on the table for him. He wouldn't put a transfer request in but he'd talk to the club about what he decides he wants to do. Can't really see him being here at the start of next season but you never know.

100% wih you

He's already asked for a transfer

In 7 years time to the day he could be preparing to lead out an England team in the 2022 World Cup Final in Qatar.

I'd far rather in seven years time to the day, that he still be an Everton player - being England captain would be a nice add-on.
The world cup being in Qatar still feels like the weirdest part of these predictions.

Stones going to Chelsea seemed to be very much a whim of Jose and doesn't seem likely they'll bid again to me. Even more unlikely he would want to go there. All the other English clubs seem unlikely to spend that kind of cash on a developing centre half at the moment. And centre halves don't tend to be where the major European clubs generally spend their cash.
He's potentially world class but still a gamble for anyone. And a move is a huge gamble for him when his career is doing fine and he knows he will stay in the public eye.
Might all be rose tinted but us optimists deserve some cred after last summer.
