John Textor

It's 12k mate not 10.

Also you're forgetting about executive boxes which rake in a huge amount we are pretty much quadrupling the number of them.
It won’t be just a case of making a flat extra £million due increased tickets and corporate. The running costs of BMD will be many many many many multiples of Goodison. If we sold Goodison levels of tickets, we would be insolvent within a few months. Energy, hospitality staffing, maintenance, cleaning, security, waste management will be enormous uplifts. We will need significant “partners” on multi-year deals to really make a sizeable difference to profits. Whether we have any reputation left to attract major partners is a worry.

You would have to assume that some of the designers and financiers worked out the cost increased seats vs likely increased revenue. Hopefully enough brains were around to drown out the idiots and come up with the right number. An extra 8,000 seats wouldn’t have increased the sponsorship income, so presumably the stadiums unique positioning made it unfeasible/uneconomical to go any bigger.

Also the distinct possibility Mosh and our former esteemed board liked the idea of a big season ticket waiting list. Keeps the option of rapid price hikes on the table if demand massively outstrips supply. Fortunately none of them will be around to try that on.

can you matt explain it?

Why would Textor and Moshiri be doing this dance in the media?

Textor is about to launch his football group on the stock exchange hoping to raise 100’s of millions. A whiff of him buying Everton, makes that more attractive so +£££££.

For Moshiri, it gives the sense to the fan base things are moving, means he doesn’t get any fan abuse at the start of the season and also drums up interest in the media that Everton could be close to being sold - flushing out other potential bidders.

Whats happened since Ornstein broke this weeks ago - actually nothing, but a media dance.

They both benifit from the media around this.
