@Barnfred 55 i read this suggestion about him moving to the Geordies

I feel abit sorry for Kenny. Hes been dropped for Coleman who hasnt set the world alight.

Ideally we would loan him out but have no cover.

My suggestion would be to bring in another RB (with the aim of pushing Coleman to a higher level or replace him) or a utility player who is of a very high quality (someone who can cover 2 of RB/CB/LB).

Then send Kenny on loan till Coleman is moved on in the future sometime...then bring him back into the fold to compete with whoever we signed.

But Kenny's only League 1 standard Zat. Why would Newcastle be in for him.?:coffee:

Seriously that is just paper talk. Saying Everton wouldn't put up a fight is utter tripe. He's our only back up right back. No way we'd just sell him, not without bringing in another. Kenny is still only 21, I can't see him kicking up a fuss at the moment. Now he's 30, Coleman will continue to pick up the odd knock so Kenny will get game time and will be training under Silva with the likes of Coleman and Digne. He's in the right place with the right people at the moment.

Its a pity we cant loan out both Holgate and Kenny as we have no-one to deputise if Kennys out.

Important that both get game time imo.

I am very very confident that JJK will become a very very good standard RB in the Premier League. He's way ahead of what Seamus was like at his age, in fact wasn't Seamus bumped into right midfield as his defending was atrocious at first and then a loan to Blackpool really did the trick for him. I think people expect Kenny to be a starter ready as of now, he's still 20 so there's loads of time but nobody can say hes's not on track with development because he's doing good in my eyes.

He's a solid backup with upside. He's the absolutely perfect backup RB.

..always reluctant to think anything into a link that says ‘should make a move’.

At this stage of his career, it's the perfect fit really, he's a very good standard back up and he has it all in front of him to grab should the footballing gods allow it. His attitude etc are spot on but obviously we don't know what ceiling his talent has got just yet.

Nice to see Jonjoe getting some strong support from knowledgeable Blues fans, Jonjoe was thrown into the first team last season, a very poor team at that, he had to fend for himself, playing with an out of form, Kichael Keane, Ashley Williams in even worse form, Martina at left back, Jonjoe got through and did okay, not perfect in that set up, but enough to show he's got what it takes for a good solid future at Everton. This season he's had some good games, had a dodgy first half at Leicester but stuck at and had a much better second half and came on the winning side.

I thought he was unlucky to be dropped after that game, but Seamus looks like he's getting back to something like his old form, Jonjoe ( injured at the moment ) has got plenty of time on his side, he'll get better and better the more he plays, loves Everton, one of us and is here to stay. Just get behind him and give him a chance when he gets back in the team, Seamus and Jonjoe, the right back position is secure for a good few years.

Looks like a load of nonsense to me too.

Still, gets you thinking that he does need games to improve...as does Holgate.

He's the perfect back up just as Holgate is too.

Snag is, how can they develop fully without games...ideally would send both on loan for games and bring them back in a couple of seasons once they are improved further...

It's not that long ago Zat that you were saying we should have a nucleus of 13/14 top players as match starters with young players making up the rest of the squad. We're pretty much at that point now.

However the other thing that is happening, for the first time in as long as I can remember, is that we have pretty much a fully fit squad (ironically JJ is the only one injured at the moment). Whilst this happens, the back up players won't be getting much game time.

It's sods law, but we can't have our cake and eat it.

Anyway, we will get injuries and we'll need to also use our squad over the Christmas period, so the lads will get some game time. Assuming we get European football next season, and hopefully stay in the domestic cups a bit longer, it'll be an easier problem to manage.

...I really don’t get this loan stuff, Zat. Players are back-up because we need able deputies. The manager won’t send them on loan because he might need them. I think Holgate is different to Kenny in that he’s behind Jagielka in the queue (based on Jagielka’s inclusion at Chelsea).

I still feel that way, the snag is that we dont have a left back to come in for Digne once Baines leaves.

Also its obtuse that Coleman came straight back in for Kenny which i feel was unwarranted.

So, my logic would be;

A-- Sign a left back who knows theyre behind Digne --who likely is our long term first choice -- who wont get many games at all and so probably wont be that good.

B-- Sign someone who can play both sides who has a higher chance for game time enabling us to loan Kenny out to develop.

I would choose B as it enables us to sign a superior player (in theory) and also gives Kenny games.

Do you feel that Kenny / Holgate would benefit more from being part of the squad and not playing or going on loan?

Thats really what it comes down to...
