Some people saying he didn’t play that bad. Did you see it when he was jockeying a player coming in from the left into the box and then just ran away into the middle nearly letting them in for a clear run to score. Was laughable defending. Never seen anything like it.

He jockeyed the ball out indicating it was a throw in for us, when he could have easily kept it in.

The throw in went to West Ham.

He makes some really really unusual calls. If he was Danish we'd all slag him off. I don't personally think he'll cut it myself. Same with Davies, Calvert-Lewin. I like that we give kids a go, but not for the sake of it.

Seems small thing to gripe about but we were losing, what good is a throw in there anyway? Mad ting.

It's more one of the small things, which culminate over the course of the game which are my issue.

I mean, somethings, somethings he does fine. But I never feel comfortable with him on the pitch. He's played something like 18 Premier League games now, and I'd have hoped he'd have lost the "Deer in the Headlights" vibe. He may cut it, I just don't think he will.

Seem to be in a minority on here but I thought he played well. I gave him man of the match. Thought he did OK defensively against their most dangerous player and, overall defensively, was certainly no worse than the other 4 (including the keeper) or the 2 DMs sitting in front of them.

Going forward I thought he was our most dangerous player. Apart from the assist for the goal he overlapped very well. He and Digne put some quality balls into the box and it was the one side to our game that actually worked well yesterday. Numerous times Walcott had the chance to play him on the overlap but most often used him as a decoy and ended up losing the ball.

I know sometimes we can be guilty of blue tinted glasses when watching some of our players, and it's true I was rooting for JJ to do well. But I also wanted others like Holgate, DCL. Gana, Tosun, Lookman and Siggy to do well, and they all had absolute stinkers.

That was weird. There was also a moment where he just stopped running from a hopeful punt over the top from them.

On the plus side he put in some nice crosses.

he wasn't as bad as people are making out, he needs to overlap more though, he seems to just stand dead close to the winger in front of him and only makes a run when told to, he should follow coleman and just sprint past his winger anyway

I think he gets hung out to dry by the midfield, he's a full so he's obviously going to be up the field, so when we lose the ball gueye or morgan should be covering his position, they never do, for a team that players 2 CDM at home against poor oppo, we are always so massively open, worrying
