Not everything we do improves us. Sometimes we are trying to derisk a situation. At this point we are looking like we will let quite a lot of players go And may lose others we don’t want to. Tying down JJK de risks us from not refilling the squad and the cost of us doing that is low. If we are able to improve the squad and don’t have injuries to the point that JJK doesn’t play then all is well.

i think someone posted earlier that there can’t be an academy player deemed ready and therefore this move. I just see it as an cheap insurance policy

….he can’t make a slow player fast. The fact he played him at all suggests that top players are not always top judges of a player. Often the best managers were not best players.
Not all fullbacks rely on speed alone,as I say just hoping there's something Lampard has seen that makes it worthwhile. Time will tell.

I don't think we can go into the season with Coleman and Patterson as our only right backs. Coleman is declining, Patterson is raw and just had a bad injury.

Kenny is happy to be a squad man, on low wages and will cover both RB and LB.

If we had the money to go out and sign a starting prime age RB this would be a bad move but we don't so giving him an extension makes sense even if it is disappointing.
I honestly don't care he's not good enough

Shows how crap our recruitment staff are. Oh dear me if our first bit of business is a 3 year deal for JJK and £100k a week tarwoski

Possibly more down to the fact we had no other RB at times though Eggs is why he played.

I cant get my head around the reasoning for this at all.

A year extension I could perhaps "understand, but not agree".

Three years is madness.

….he was being selected ahead of Patterson.

In part I think it's more complicated than that though mate.

Break it down, Lampard takes over a team that's a defensive shambles with two new fullbacks completely new to this league, and neither arriving fully match fit, I think it was a case of looking at who was closer and deciding thsts the one fur this season we work on getting up to speed.

Think pre season will show how he stands in the order

For a short period and there is a reasonable question mark over wheter Patterson was ready (personally, I'd have played Patterson). I think had he not got a bad injury we would have seen Patterson.

But then again, we are offering JJK a new contract, so who on earth knows.

….I’d have that if Kenny was a good defender but he isn’t. If a fb is a poor defender then they tend to be very good going forward but Kenny isn’t.

i actually think Lampard is too influenced by busy and talkative players in training, popular players who say the right things to teammates. Patterson has looked a bit of a loner. I’d prefer if players who are effective on match days get the nod over players he likes in training.

Following a brief spell of relief at escaping relegation, it's good to see GOT getting back to its usual state of hysterical hyperventilation. Semper fi.

Could be mate it's hard to say from the outside really

What makes you say Patterson looks a loner?
Please tell me your not making a judgement based on a trianing vid placed on social media, which is about a minute long.
Assuming you have the inside track on all Finch farm going ons?
