It says a lot, when even the Celtic fans are scratching their heads over Kenny being offered a contract by anyone in the Premier League, let alone Everton.

Described by Celtic fans - " even in the SPL, he was out of his depth ".
I don't know what's more embarrassing failing to distinguish yourself in the Scottish league for a dominant team or being shredded by charlie taylor both debacles just should disqualify you as a premier league player.

Apologies as not been following this thread but is it official he has been actually offered a contract. Or is it some bollox on twitter or even a rumour like the Richarlison to Villa :)

How many have 2 main right backs at literal extreme ends of the spectrum? 1 possibly too young and raw, the other too old

It's a conversation for another day, but when you say "too old", Coleman is 33 - yes, his best years are behind him and he's coming off a poor season, but there's an argument to be had where I could suggest his decline had been exaggerated a bit by the lack of a semi-decent team and/or cohesive tactical strategy around him over the last couple of years.

I'm not for a single moment suggesting that he's anywhere near his prime, but in the last two seasons he's had firstly James "Nah, running's not for me, chico" Rodriguez in front of him and has been badly exposed as a result or he's had this season where we've basically been an absolute disaster and you'd have been hard-pressed to shine if you were ten times the player Coleman is.

As for Patterson - let's wait and see. This view has been drawn out because of that injury he had. Impossible to venture an opinion on this just yet.

If the deal for Kenny was one year rather than three, I might think this argument made more sense, but keeping him for three years should (in theory) take him well past Coleman's retirement, and Kenny has demonstrated time and again that he's well below the standard required, so why would we be relying on him as back up for any more than one season? If it turns out Patterson isn't up to it or is a year or two away, buy a Coleman replacement next summer.

Presuming Patterson will be our number one right back next season, with Coleman as a standby.

Can't see us offering JJK a new deal.

He offers us absolutely nothing as a player.

Think we have to trust Lampard on this one, after his time as a top Prem player he must be able to see something that he can improve in JJK's game that a lot of us are missing. He's young enough to improve and hopefully the contract offer isn't too high that the gamble is worth taking.

He’s 25 mate. If he hasn’t improved by now he isn’t going to.

Bizarre decision unless Coleman is calling it a day.

He has two offers from Germany. If there is a realistic chance of first team football there, he should go.
Definitely I was being harsh on him but he's not up to the required level for the EPL but he does seem like a decent human being and a professional so if he has opportunities to ply his trade in the Bundesliga as a starter ,I agree he should go for it

Suppose we just have to trust it's a Lampard influenced decision. As I said if it doesn't work out at least it won't cost as much as some of our more recent contract disasters

….he can’t make a slow player fast. The fact he played him at all suggests that top players are not always top judges of a player. Often the best managers were not best players.
