Would have been decent option if he would be prepared to take a wage cut

Can’t see arsenal demanding more than 10 mil for him

We spent £15mill on Patterson, Coleman still has a year left. We wouldn't spend another £10mill on another fullback when we need a new midfield and CBs.

Think JJK is getting some unwarranted stick. Think he's fine as a backup, he knows it, Frank knows it. Covers a back 3 as well as RB and LB.

Inexpensive deal IMO

Cloud cuckoo land. He has been absolutely appalling this season bar 1 game vs Leeds. Absolutely appalling. There is no way a youngster wouldn’t have been able to have made at least the same impact. Go and watch the game against Burnley where he made Charlie Taylor look like a peak Marcelo. He is now in his mid 20s and won’t get quicker and if he signs another contract on 20 times the amount of an up and coming u23 full back he also gives that young lad zero incentive to stay at Everton and try and get in the first team because he is blocking a pathway. He is part of the deadwood that should of been first out of the door this summer, not at sentimental fc though… If he really has been offered a new deal at 20k a week, Everton will never learn to or be rid of the major problems that run through them like a nun’s first curry.

Who is going to buy a 26 year old, league one standard full back that is on premier league wages?

And why would he move , he’d see out his co tract just like garbutt and the rest of our dross we couldn’t sell
If they think he can do a job as cover, the contract should reflect that, perhaps a single year. I can see some sense in keeping him next season, but not beyond that.

Whole team was awful against Burnley. Gordon and Doucoure offered zero cover.

Was solid enough against Chelsea away, Leeds, Brighton, Villa (home). End of the day, you're not going to find many players who "player well" last season.

What else do you suggest? Stick with just Patterson and Coleman all season? Buy a back up with money we don't have?

The issue is not keeping players due to sentiment, it's buy utter gash at £90+ a week.

Before you know it the backup becomes first choice because of injuries and then we are all moaning when Kenny gets skinned by Jaidon Anthony and he pulls it back for solanke to tap it in from 3 yards out to put Bournemouth 5-2 up

I suggest he’s booted out of the door because both Godfrey and Holgate are better at fullback and they are not good enough there either, I’d also wager Tom Davies would be better at fullback than Kenny as well. Everton shouldn’t be loading itself with wages it won’t be able to shift for 3 years, no matter how much. That is the major flaw which has held the club back for years giving contracts to local lads who aren’t good enough or pea hearted mercenaries who couldn’t fight their way out of a toilet cubicle missing it’s door. This is Matthew Pennington (left at 26 years old!!!) all over again ffs

Patterson, Coleman, Kenny, Iwobi, Holgate, Godfrey - all play RB/RWB.

Mykolenko, Godfrey - only LBs we have.

Would be more concerned with the left being ripped than the right if that happens.

Again...what are the alternatives? Stick with Patterson and Coleman?

I gave 3 already…. All of them better players than this chancer. Iwobi is another who is miles ahead of him. why would anyone want to waste a single pound of our meagre budget on “squad players” when the squad is already littered with them ffs?!

I imagine, if he really has been offered a contract, it's because of his versatility. I understand that he can play right or left back, the problem is that he is just not good enough in either role. He is neither quick or strong enough to compensate for his lack of ability. If we really are that desperate, and I don't think we are, surely he should not be offered any more than a 1 year extension.

Holgate and Godfrey aren't better than Kenny at RB. Iwobi has been used as a wingback. More underlying issues is getting players to fit positions theyre not good at. Sticking Holgate and Godfrey out there hasn't worked in seasons as you remove any attacking threat out wide.

Kenny was the only fullback to register any assists last season, mad how that sounds.
