Safe to say JJK is the new scapegoat ! Poor kid. Hardly his fault his employer decided to extend his contract. I imagine each one of us is exemplary at their jobs and fully deserving of their pay !

Agreed he's not all that, but he's still a blue. We shouldn't accept mediocrity but have to accept where we are right now.

I understand what you are saying particularly about being a scapegoat, that’s a symptom of a much bigger problem tho isn’t it?

We have been here so many times before, it’s a very long winded cycle and moves into what you say about accepting where we are.

When fans call out those who has played a part in being where we are, it’s arguments and arguments. Managers and players seem more fair game yet those above are still there as so called custodians and people will defend them .

Isn’t it about time we as a fan base looked at this and thought, we are going no where here.

Again, Kenny is a symptom of a much bigger problem, the people, the culture, the mentality, the lack of foresight. We keep going through this over and over again for years.

Are we trying even harder to get relegated next season ?

Not all on JJKs shoulders of course - but indicates financial-first decisions.

With Coleman on his last legs, this would indicate a battle for starting place between an unproven Patterson and JJK - pretty concerning.

I mean he sent him out on loan, but people kept sending him back cos hes rubbish.
Collector of quality players, burnely were sniffing around should have foisted him for like 1 million and we would of been free of his sub par abilities

Lamptey too
aye recently, but the point is they are doing it no?

Yeah. Just the one club. Eventually cos someone took a gamble on them and after hording players for years

They've still got Emerson, Rahman, Kenedy, Chillwell, Alonso, Azpe, Reece James on their books.

So basically it's Reece James. Lampty and Livermento saw they were never gonna play so left to Southampton and Brighton.

I was fuming when this story broke, but on reflection I have settled a bit.

  • We don't know if Coleman will be even fit enough as a back up next season, he probably will be meaning JJK is likely a 3rd choice utility. With out current medical team a 3rd choice is needed.
  • He could walk on a free. That's bad business for any academy product with top league experience.
  • Nobody knows the terms of his new deal. If it's anything below 40k it's relative buttons.

Just don't understand this, I know he played a bit since Lampard came in but with everyone fit (I know I know) he's well down the pecking order in both FB positions.

Would've been best just to release him and give him a fresh start as crowd going to be on his back straight away if he makes a few errors next season. He tries his best but not as good as since the loans.

If Patterson keeps getting injured I'd rather just stick Godfrey or Holgate there for a game or two.

You shouldn't need a 3rd specialist right back, that's the whole thing in a nutshell for me. City, Liverpool etc don't have 3 players who are just waiting to play right back, I just don't understand why we think we do. He simply can't play left back in my opinion. He can fill in there in an emergency, but if he was to play any more than a handful of games there it would be a massive problem.

He could still walk on a free at the end of this contract, just having cost us more.

£40K is not buttons for a player who doesn't play.
