Im not wasting my time defending Brands, I just dont understand why people "make things up", theres enough that he did without inventing things.

Alex Iwobi 34million English pounds.

He also didn’t buy a right back in his 3 and a half years at the club, that also isn’t made up.

Now that we have again not replaced Seamus adequately, i think we should just do our best with Kenny & Patterson, because we once again have more high priority areas of the pitch to worry about - a strong Central Defender, a midfielder who can pass (or two) and another wide attacker. (could have copy pasted this for the last 4 Summers)

Cos we had Seamus Coleman, the man that Bayern wanted to spend 60m on.

But yes, he crapped the bed in the right back stakes, I think im on record saying it was a mistake, but I can assure you it wasnt cos he thought JJK was going to be an option. Brands was "sacked" in December, why would he allow a player he wanted to keep enter the final 6months of his contract?

See above, Brands deffo realised at some point last year that Kenny was actually crap.

I fear the day will be upon us soon when it's announced he signed a new deal. Utterly abysmal when that happens and a terrible sign for our future.

Abysmal dummy spitting from our “fans”

He’s an alright squad player and it makes sense to give him another couple of years

He's crap. Along with Tom Davies, another local lad who has absolutely won the lottery by being able to play for us. Neither anywhere near this level, yet kept for sentimental reasons and because they are Blues. We need to rid ourselves of this mentality.

He did try and buy Patterson last summer (or at least we were heavily linked) but was overruled by the manager when they asked for more money. Which we then agreed to pay after Brands left. I'm aware it remains to be seen whether Patterson can cut it at PL level. And admittedly it was several years too late.

It's also well reported that he didn't want iwobi, especially for £34m, but was overruled by our owner. Which is a big issues either brands role. What was the point in him if he couldn't make decisions himself.

I think crap (in both cases) is a bit harsh.

Are they 'Euro challengers' level? Probably not..... But in both players cases they have played for multiple managers over a few short years with no actual defined style to grow into.

Maybe with a bit of stability they'd have developed a little better, we don't know.

For the record, I wouldn't lose much sleep if both left. It's just a little disappointing that another local lad hasn't reached the level we hoped.

Everton extend Begovic deal, Kenny leaves

Everton have activated a clause in Asmir Begovic's contract to extend it by one year, but defender Jonjoe Kenny has left the club.

Kenny leaves Goodison Park after joining the club at the age of nine and made 50 Premier League appearances, with Everton describing his departure as pursuing "a new challenge".

The Toffees have also offered a new contract to Begovic's goalkeeper team-mate Andy Lonergan.
