What a wonderful letter. I think it is a mark of the man and in stark contrast to the departures of so many players when they leave a club.

It is refreshing to see such honesty and appreciation for all that has been done for him by so many.

Jonjoe admitted in his letter that his biggest asset was determination rather than raw talent , many would agree with that but not an easy admission for somebody so young.

I wish him well in his future career.
 
Fair dues to the lad. Lived the dream that I had many moons ago.

Interesting line in there for me about how he sees himself as a decent player, but his best attributes are work rate and application, and to be fair he’s been picked by a number for managers for those reasons.

Makes me think how many players are more skilled, but have a poor atttitide or lack of application, but then go on to reach greater heights than Jonjoe.

Anyway, good luck. Will keep an eye on Hertha.

Right decision for him to leave. Fair play to the lad, he lived every one of our dreams, you could see what the palace game meant to him, just wasn’t quite good enough at the end of the day. Best of luck to him in the future
