Jonjoe Kenny

He’s had plenty of game time lately to be fair. He did well yesterday. Im
Intrigued to see if Frank offers him another contract

….I certainly think Coleman has at least another season used sparingly with Patterson.

Kenny is very ordinary, we’ve bought a progressive young full back with talent and pace and the timing of the transition to him from Coleman is ideal. We’re not learning lessons if we give players who aren’t good enough new contracts.
I’d like to see Patterson, maybe he isn’t being used because of the position we are in, not risking the chance, when we get safe from the drop he will almost certainly get games. As for Jonjoe let’s see if Lampard offers him a new contract, it’s all about opinions Eggs as you know, one man’s meat is another man’s poison.

We've maybe got another example on our hands of someone who was made out to be completely incompetent and out of their depth showing that they aren't, and then people immediately swinging the other way and massively overstating how good they are instead.

We have lots of players who are capable enough of playing PL football, but who don't excel at this level. In my opinion Kenny is one. He can come in to fill a gap every now and again and do a good job but if you start asking him to play a run of games his weaknesses start to show more and more. He was great on saturday but that isn't his normal level, either here or on loan. One swallow doesn't make a summer, we don't need to reassess his entire career because he was better than you expected in one game.

It's all down to how Lampard sees him.
