Great interview and credit to him for looking at himself and putting in the extra work. Definitely showed at the weekend.

….very impressed with that interview.

I gave up on him watching plenty of Celtic games but he said his head wasn’t in the right place, he was making excuses for himself. I always liked his attitude coming through the ranks, so the season at Celtic really disappointed me. Let’s hope he’s turned a corner but I’m still unsure about his future with us.

Great video of him when camera is behind him and Coleman scores, he’s all on his lonesome and jumps up and down like a 10 year old kid celebrating-

Frank Lampard seems impressed with Jonjoe Kenny and I guess he's the one that matters:

Jonjoe is another one in the two weeks (Lampard has been at Everton) who comes with the attitude in training. I love that. He comes in every day, he loves Everton. Wants to give everything, any drill, any session we do in training, and he’s a quality player ” - Lampard on Jonjoe Kenny.

I honestly think he would sign a 12/18mth extension in order to show he can progress and prove his worth to the Club.

Always thought there was a decent player there who was struggling for confidence and seemed to only ever get run outs int4ermittently when we were playing very badly. He suffered from never being given a proper run, playing as daft as it sounds is the only way to get up to speed and a extended run can bring confidence ask young Gordon.

Whether he can replicate Saturday on a consistent basis is another story but he was brilliant. Interesting to see if he sticks around as back up or if he finally wants to find a club that will play him every week.

Still only 24,tbh whenever i have watched him he has been v poor in possession and ok defensively, if he can improve and be back up left and right full back he might be worth considering on a cheaper (relatively) contract

I think one of the issues I have with people slating him and I’ve mentioned this before is that he has always been called upon when the team is on its arse and he’s never been given a run in the team. On Saturday the whole team showed up and considering he was one player out of positi I thought he was the pick of the back 4 and one of the best performers on the day. I hope he gets another bite of the cherry this weekend.

Always thought he's a good enough squad player but will never be 1st team (bar injuries).

Brands clearly rated him before Holgate took his spot while he was on loan in Germany. It's also why we never bought a right back.

However...I just can't see him being here with Patterson coming in now and Mykolenko is on the left.

It's up to him and the club. If he wants to be a squad player, then I don't see an issue keeping him. If he wants 1st team footy, then he'll have to go.

….it’s his physicality that doesn’t help. Once he broke into open age football it was quickly obvious he had no powers of recovery, when a player or the ball went beyond him he was out of the game. it‘ll often mean as soon as he drifts forward he gets caught in no-man’s land with a single ball over the top or if the opposition break quickly.

ironically, he’d be best under the previous regime where full backs don’t cross the halfway line.

It depends on the system. Alexander Arnold is exactly the same. He leaves huge gaps down his wing in every game, but the rs play a system that allows for that. I'm not saying Kenny is as good as Alexander Arnold, but if we play a high line with the full backs bombing on, he could maybe play that role for the rest of this season. I don't see his long term future with us, I see him as a Championship level player. There's no shame in that, it's still more than most people will ever achieve.
