Ha Ha Ha.

Been consistently our best defender in the last few weeks.
No, no, no, no. You clearly don't understand how this forum works, mate. It's your job to be relentlessly, consistently, and vigorously wrong in all the stuff that you say. If you start posting stuff like this, that's.......... well.......... right, it's just gonna completely upset the order of things. Please consider yourself reprimanded.

He is not good enough and doesn’t warrant a new deal, but I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he’ll get a 3 year extension.

Excellence week in week out means he deserves a new deal. Overall he's been our best defender this season (granted, it doesn't mean much).

A 2 year contract would be fine. He's our main back up at left back and arguably should be first choice at right back.

He's still young and learning...he's had experience of 3 leagues now and it's beginning to tell and pay off.

FL will give him a new contract. He's adaptable and getting consistency. If we tried to buy that in now it'd cost us near £20M.

Patterson didn't cost far off 20m, he is a young lad but he's never showed form at Kenny's current level and is nowhere near as versatile.

I don't think he's good enough to start, but he's proven that he's a decent enough backup option and can be flexible. If he's happy with that role, then I think he's well worth a two-year extension. Better than Holgate at right back, arguably better than Coleman too. But we need better than Holgate, Coleman or Kenny as a starting right back next season, so unless that's Patterson we need to invest in a starting right back and loan out our Scottish international.

Wouldn't even say he has either tbh I think Holgate has

Kenny was awful v Southampton
“ Kenny was awful v Southampton “. So was the rest of the team, what about the three other games he’s given very good performances in both full back positions, don’t they deserve a mention? He has never been given a consistent run in the team since he made his debut four or five years ago under five or six different managers.

What you are saying is that you don’t think Kenny is worth a new contract but you have no doubt that Frank Lampard will give him a three year contract!! Needs an explanation that Mike.

Yeah and theres a reason he hasn't been given a run in the team. I don't believe he is the answer myself personally, but yeah I agree he has put in some good performances recently, conveniently at the end of his contract

He has done alright recently, but not sure he's a long term answer, especially not on the left. A month ago I would have been a firm no on a new contract but now I'm undecided really. It's up to him to keep performing.

Not really. Managers make decisions fans disagree with all the time. That's why they are managers and we are supporters. Although doesn't mean the manager is always right either - far from it.

He's head and shoulders our best defender right now. We would be mad to let him leave. This cannot be disputed.
