Jonjoe Kenny

He's still young and learning...he's had experience of 3 leagues now and it's beginning to tell and pay off.

FL will give him a new contract. He's adaptable and getting consistency. If we tried to buy that in now it'd cost us near £20M.

He is 25 years of age.

I'm not making a judgement on one month under Lampard. If it becomes 3-4 months of consistency then that's totally different.
I watched him in the Bundesliga and he did very well there too.

Anyone watching Kenny from outside Everton would think it mad that supporters of a club trying its hardest to get relegated want shut of him.

He is not good enough and doesn’t warrant a new deal, but I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he’ll get a 3 year extension.
I would have said the same a month ago , but I’d definitely prefer him at RB for the rest of this season and rotating with patterson next season than Coleman.

Coleman again was poor when he came on last night, constantly stopping and going back and he had chances to put crosses in or attack the full back. I’m not sure he put one cross in.

We need to spend money elsewhere, so 12 months of Kenny/patterson so be it. We ain’t challenging for the champions league places next season. It will be Franks first full season with potentially 5/6 new players. So it will again be a season of learning and growing as a group hopefully.

He's got a lot of expereince now and he's still learning. Baines learned a lot from his mid 20s when he came here. Is Kenny not to be handed the same chance?

Honest to God, this is why our supporters have got us where we are: the addiction to the new.

Baines was already an established Premier League player when he joined us at 23.

I don’t think Kenny is or ever will be good enough for the Premier League, but if we go down he would be a useful asset in the Championship. So I can see the sense in tying him down from that perspective.

Good point about Baines. I remember when we signed him it took him a while to establish his spot. With the extra hours that Kenny us putting in outside of training seems to be paying dividends.

Very true. If Mykolenko or Patterson came in and performed like Jonjoe is now our fans would be saying they are excellent signings and great value for money.

Jonjoe is performing like a 20m signing and we got him for nothing. It's not hard to evaluate. Give him a new contract straight away.

Not really. Managers make decisions fans disagree with all the time. That's why they are managers and we are supporters. Although doesn't mean the manager is always right either - far from it.
You don’t think Jonjoe deserves a contract but the manager does, a lot of times managers are right.
