What's wrong with having him as a squad player. Coleman will be off soon and will need replacing. Why bin Kenny off too if he can do a job as a squad player, when there are other areas that desperately need strengthening

A lot depends on the Patterson situation really. If he's ready to be first choice next year and play every week then having a player like Kenny as cheap back up isn't the end of the world. If he's not - and there have to be doubts at the moment - then we need somebody better as I don't think Kenny is good enough to be a first choice right back for a team wanting to be any higher in the table than we are at the moment.

I have no objection to Kenny being kept on if he is a stop gap. What I wouldn't want to see is him getting regular game time over the likes of Patterson because he is slightly more experienced. Patterson has a much higher ceiling for me.
