I imagine when they go to the dentist with a toothache it’s “TAKE THEM ALL OUT NOW”.

Moderation people.

Players are allowed poor form now and again. No one can be 100% all the time.

He hasn't even been poor, that's the thing. Not at his best, but not poor.

Had he stopped either of those Spain goals last night they'd have been miracle saves.

Kopites are having a field day going about how Alisson is SO MUCH BETTER.
Interesting thing about that is how much of a yard stick we are now to them, being better then us and having better players then us is the measure for them, no wonder Sky had to invent the top 6 rather then the top 4 to accommodate them

I think for players like Pickford, who have a mentality that could generously be described as being "extremely confident", it is important for the fanbase to be a "criticial friend" (or frandel) to him.

We will make him a better player.

This is where a bit of perspective is needed. People having a go at those posters who are not totally convinced by Pickford, need to realise that the cause of this is the people who hyped him up to be something he was not in the 1st instance.

People don't genuinely want us to have poor players, they are just reacting to the disparity between what they see by way of over complimentary analysis of a player who admittedly has potential, to what they can clearly see with their own 2 eyes. It's critical thinking and being able to form an opinion based on evidence rather than blindly following the people who talk about how stylish the emporers new clothes are.

It's not criticism, it's realism. The stats back this up. And when such stats are wheeled out, it's never the players fault, there is always a reason why it's somebody else's.

Sure there might be a slight negative slant on it at times, but it's only to counter the utter nauseating positivity of those who build up the attributes of the likes of Pickford, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Baines, Sandro, etc, to be something they clearly are not.

Do I want Pickford to be the next Southall? To be 1 of the best players in the league? Of course I do.

Is he currently? Not even close.

This all day long.
Is he a good shot stopper? Yes
Does he kick the ball out of play too many times and make errors? Yes

There's a reason Chelsea bought there keeper, rather then Pickford who would of been cheaper.

But this is good, it means Pickford has a good chance of staying for here many years. It's like walcott, he is very effective here, but man city would never buy him
