He’s a good keeper, not ‘world class’ or ‘top quality’ just a good keeper.

A good keeper who has the potential to be a top quality one, imo.

He's just 24.

Alisson was an unheard of sub until this time last year.

Does he not have the potential to be a top goalkeeper either?

Every - every single one - goalkeeper makes errors. When they do, they result in a goal, more often than not. Making mistakes goes with the territory. It's how the keepers react and respond when they do happen which goes towards making them a top goalkeeper.

I tthat’s why he’ll never be a top quality keeper Dave, he just has too many mistakes in him.

I just wonder if his attitude changed from one of unfocussed, surly arrogance to one where he channels what talent he has with a bit more humility he could be a better GK than he is.

That humility should come easily, tbf, given the avalanche of goals he's let in during his career.

Just as a FYI......

I looked on skysports lists for goalkeepers yesterday for the stats on tallest/shortest etc after Pickford getting a 6 year deal.

23 Premier league goalkeepers on the list, taller and shorter than Pickford, including Stekelenburg, but no Pickford. Seems he doesn't exist with SkySports.

If you have 3 years or 5 years left it wouldn't make any difference of his transfer value.
This deal increases a wage bill that is already too big
