It's not a crime to be critical of the lad. People were getting all defensive of Stones when he was getting pelters for taking risks.

He goes to man city and inevitably has to go through the process of making mistakes and getting dropped.

If we want to be a top 4 side let's have top 4 standards.... no one is asking for him to be sold or disciplined. He just needs to realise that whilst he's a good lad he probably needs to take stock of things he needs to improve.... his decision making being one.

Criticising his mistake is fair enough, but using it as an excuse to repeatedly suggest he’s bang average, not good enough for Everton, etc, is where it’s all getting a bit silly in my opinion.

He remains one of the best keepers in the league and will earn us more points over the course of the season than that one he just lost us.

It matters not that there have been instances where he concentrates in games for the full 90 minutes. It matters that he does it for ALL matches. That's what professionals do. That's why they're called professionals. And it's the minimum that should be demanded of an England no1, surely?
I don't agree that concentration is the issue. If you read my full post you'd see that.

It's a shame as he was starting to get back into form, but if people say he has an issue with concentration, this will be the kick up the arse he needs. I can't see him trying to be as clever for a while, just hope it doesn't knock his confidence. As people have said, there's a few players to blame for why we didn't win yesterday, I'm more peed about that than the fact we lost. But we win as a team, draw as a team and lose as a team.

We made a hell of a lot more mistakes up front than we did at the back.

He saved our bacon in the game v Palace, and Chelsea. He made a few good saves in this game too. But because he got caught out by what was quite frankly a complete freak goal he now deserves to be castigated as a poor keeper? Objectively he’s been absolutely excellent this season and it’s only those with an agenda against him who seemingly want to buy into the kopite propaganda who wish to see him torn down because he was getting too much attention over the summer.

Exactly, if we dropped and sold him like some have suggested we're downgrading. We wouldn't have a hope in attracting a better keeper in the world. He was arguably the best keeper in the world cup and still young. Like I said, I do understand frustrations, but this knee jerking is the way the world has gone.

You are unrealistic in your expectations of human beings who will always naturally slip up from time to time. Professional players lose concentration all the time. Its why defenders get done by offside traps, why strikers scuff shots etc
If you only want players who don't make mistakes & never lose concentration then you may as well give up on supporting the club & football in general.
You sir are utterly deluded.

What about the mistakes he has made this season and last
Neves free kick was his fault
Ings hit the bar after his mistake
Origi
Arnotivic goal at the end of last season that somehow went straight through him
Van dijk

Etc
