The supporters at Goodison gave him a brilliant reception, maybe you should find a club more suited to your preference of shunning players who make mistakes. I can think of one nearby. What are your feelings on death threats to goalkeepers who make mistakes out of interest?

We struggled to break down Cardiff at home, we struggled to break down Huddersfield at home.

The derby had no bearing on last nights game, Newcastle, like the teams mentioned above, came with a game plan and it worked (or nearly worked in regards to Cardiff).

Also, as I write, I remember we struggled to break down Palace as well. This is where we are lacking at the moment. Without a truly natural top class goal scorer these matches could continue to happen regularly.

That aside, if the chances had gone in last night, in the first half, we would have had a comfortable 2nd half.

Those games mentioned had nothing to do with any mistake from Pickford in the game before.

Not to mention that we did make a couple of changes so there was also the possibility that the players would not adapt 100% and sweep aside a resolute defensive (counter attacking) side.

I think it all stems from him having absolutely no pressure on his starting position whatsoever as we only have the useless Stekelenberg as backup and Virginia who has never played a professional game in England in his life.

He can afford to be lax and allow complacency to creep into his game (and still know he'll play every game), even though I'm not saying being complacent was what happened against the RS - it was just a horrific mistake.

He still makes great saves, but I'm not really seeing this "great footwork" he is supposed to possess - he kicks the ball directly out of play several times a game when under no pressure at all.

I like him, and I think if we got better backup then he would up his game. Hopefully that mistake won't repeat itself in the future and any ounce of 'over-cockiness' has been well and truly knocked out of him.

We really need to get rid of Stekelenburg and get a decent backup goalie.

Players make mistakes. Pickford made a bad one.

The point he cost us on Sunday, he actually got us back yesterday because he made a great last-ditch save didn't he. So it's already cancelled itself out.

If that's the case then Gomes is just as culpable with missing the header on Sunday 1 yard out.

If that's the case then Gomes is just as culpable with missing the header on Sunday 1 yard out.

That's called "being a goal keeeper" mate.

God damn right I am, but im over it now, he messed up, he will mess up again, but you can tell the players that dont care, the players that only want the money and the fame, ALL OF THEM, LOL, but you know what I mean.

He seems a decent lad and he seems like he wants to improve his talent, he seems happy here and whilst hes made a few little errors in his time here the other day was the first time I recall him messing up as badly. Im sure hes not happy about it and im sure he will try and make sure it doesnt happen again.
