I didnt see the game yesterday, but from what Im reading on here it sounds like our fans cheered Pickford more than usually because he screwed us against the RS again.
Sounds too insane to be true and I choose not to belive our supporters to be that sad. We dont cheer people more because they assist our nemesis to beating us, no group of supporters does that.

You're clueless. Genuinely clueless.

You make it sound intentional, like he thrown it in his own net because he wanted us to lose.

The supporters at Goodison gave him a brilliant reception, maybe you should find a club more suited to your preference of shunning players who make mistakes. I can think of one nearby. What are your feelings on death threats to goalkeepers who make mistakes out of interest?

Diddums. If he can only get himself motivated after the fans give him an undeserved cheer, he’s in the wrong profession.

His mistake had a knock on effect last night and has took the wind right out of our sails.

As I said, when United come for him in the summer, I’m sure he’ll be thinking of you all.
The same wind that knocked the wind out of your sails when you drew at home to Huddersfield and plodded to a win against Cardiff ? Pickfords mistake more than likely had little effect on how yous played

I find that a bit of a nuts statement tbh. We very much played against Cardiff, pre-Derby, like we did last night. Cardiff are worse than Newcastle so we managed to grab a goal. Quite a scabby one too as the rebound fell straight to Sig.

Yeah, as I typed that I focused some more on how nuts of a thing to say that is mate. Proper nuts.

If it took the wind out of the other players sails then they are in the wrong profession. They should be professional regardless what happened in the past games.

I think it all stems from him having absolutely no pressure on his starting position whatsoever as we only have the useless Stekelenberg as backup and Virginia who has never played a professional game in England in his life.

He can afford to be lax and allow complacency to creep into his game (and still know he'll play every game), even though I'm not saying being complacent was what happened against the RS - it was just a horrific mistake.

He still makes great saves, but I'm not really seeing this "great footwork" he is supposed to possess - he kicks the ball directly out of play several times a game when under no pressure at all.

I like him, and I think if we got better backup then he would up his game. Hopefully that mistake won't repeat itself in the future and any ounce of 'over-cockiness' has been well and truly knocked out of him.

Does De Gea’s game suffer from the same complacency, Sam?

There is no pressure on him for the gloves at OT.

And he dropped a clanger at OT last evening which was every bit as ridiculous as Pickford’s on Sunday.

Yet he is allegedly the best goalie in the world

You should have gone the game, mate. Then you could have boo'd him on your own from the terraces.

I don't see him as the best in the world at all. But I guess having no competition leads to such mistakes. Most 'pundits' would say he's a great keeper who can also be prone to a mistake every once in a while. Same with Pickford for me.

Even Allison for the RS cost them a goal by trying to dribble in a game this season, but at least he's kept tonnes of clean sheets. His save kept us from taking the lead at the weekend also.

It stems from him making a mistake.

Alisson and De Gea both made mistakes last night. Is that down to having no competition?

Players make mistakes. Pickford made a bad one.

The point he cost us on Sunday, he actually got us back yesterday because he made a great last-ditch save didn't he. So it's already cancelled itself out.
