Mentality and momentum are crucial for a team like us and his mistake came at the worst possible time. We were on a good run and his stupidity unravelled all our good work.

He will still hopefully learn from it and it could be the making of him long term. But he has to take responsibility for this slump. It's hard to recover from.sonething so horrific when the games are coming so fast. Last night he was playing without a brain. He couldn't take goal kicks properly. He was lashing the ball constantly out of play. He was belting it through to Foster. He sprinted out and tried to tackle Keane under no pressure. Yet he was rooted to his line when the high floated ball came in.

He plays for show and it needs to end. He's not too good to act like the basics are beneath him. Until he learns to show some humility and concentrate on the basics then he wont reach the very high levels he should.

A lot of our fans go on about mental toughness and slate our players for being weak minded yet this type of victim mentality from you and other posters is the exact same weakness that a lot slate our players for throughout the season.

We lost a game in the last minute in ridiculous circumstances against the current best side in the league in league position. Defeats happen. Yes it was a crushing blow but the top players and the top teams can bounce back from setbacks. Pickford was 100% to blame for that dropped point but appears to have rightly put it behind him and is focused on us pushing on.

Yet some on here are still feeling sorry for themselves allowing the players an excuse for being well below the expected level against bottom half sides at home. The players have no one to blame but themselves for the last 2 games and it's nothing to do with a single error that resulted in 1 less point. If our players can let that affect them and derail our season then they're more fragile than I thought.

Stuck on his line last night - that bad goal at anfield may have got to him a bit our heads were down last night after the pen miss.......
We got an undeserved point so let's move on....

You don't watch many goalkeepers do you? I think people who don't rate his distribution need to watch some other keepers in this league to recognise what poor distribution really is.
A ratio of about 1:3 success for every ball he plays out the back over 10 metres in my observation.

I wont miss a GK like this one.

I think some are mesmerised by the England caps. He got them because all other "top" English GKs are just about as tripe as he is.

Your criticisms are unfair mate. There's sides to his game that aren't great. For me, I think the command of his area and occasionally his positioning are weak. But his shot stopping and distribution are the strongest points of his game. He's not as great as Ederson but he is just as good as De Gea in his distribution and worlds ahead of 75% of the other keepers in this league. As I say, watch Begovic or Pope (That "top" English goalkeeper who your prefer) and there play with ball at their feet is far worse than JP.

He's not decisive in and around that six yard box. He has the attitude that it's someone else's job to get the ball there.

He is a creditable shot stopper from balls fired from the edge of the 18 yard box and beyond. But his kicking is woeful (despite what the know-nothing pundits state); he cant claim a cross; and he is turd at one on ones.

I'm sorry, but we could eaily sell him and get a better replacement. If any mugs are willing to part with £30M+ for him next summer I;d take their arms off.
