Nobody decent and in their prime is going to come here to sit behind England's number one. It just wouldn't happen.

They wouldn't want to fill in either as our fans would probably give them pelters for not being Lev Yashin after not playing in the first team for 3 months.
It doesn't have to be anyone amazing but if you're telling me that we can't attract anyone better then Stek for second choice then our problems as a club are far worst then we all feared.

Pickford isn't the problem imo. It's down to the club for not perusing a better second choice to provide legitimate competition for him. The biggest problem we've got over Pickford is that despite not playing very well in the two games following his derby howler he's still light years better on his worst day then Skekelenburg is on his best. He's under zero pressue to better himself and the only incentive he's got would be professional pride.

If we had two decent keepers we'd be able to drop one after a big mistake without it being a childish slight that would do more harm to us then to him as it would right now. It would mean they'd have to fight to improve, to EARN their starting position. There's no way we can justify dropping Pickford for Stek, he's as safe as house's and that's completely unacceptable. I like Pickford, I really rate him as a keeper but he needs pressure and competition to better himself and reach his full potential and we as a club need that even more.

We could maybe attract someone better but we have other areas that need more attention.

I would have played Virginia in the league cup myself (if we were resting anyone...)

Maybe we should have been nicer to Joel.

No mate. A players agility does not equate being a top goalkeeper. The same applies the other way, agility can be compensated by being aware of angles and command of your back line

But you have to be able to save shots or you are not very good.

I dont understand how statements like that gets any traction, but they do. I even hear commentator talking avout his great delivery, after him just belting every ball either out of play or to the wrong team. He’s for sure got it in him to got good balls to our forwards, but he seldom does.

It's a myth perpetrated initially by Glenn Hoddle.
