2018/19 Jordan Pickford

People thought it was the Sunderland defence and Moyes etc making him concede all those goals. It was also him.

Tbf, after he left Sunderland they conceded so many goals that they got relegated in two consecutive seasons, so it’s a little unfair to blame Pickford for the horror show at Sunderland.

That said, I’ve been a supporter of Pickford and I’m willing to chuck my hat into the ring and say that I now have serious doubts about him.

More and more recently, he’s been completely erratic, takes risks, seems to spend half of the time arguing with the defenders rather than worrying about his own game.

I'd seriously consider playing Stekelenburg for a match or two regardless of my own concerns about his ability, as Pickford is beginning to look very fragile.

He's made a few fair mistakes of late which are ultimately costing us more and the first goal yesterday epitomises how his frailties are coming to the fore.

Firstly, Pickford shouldn't have been there so whether he shouted or not - nobody appeared to hear it - is negated, while I'm unsure why he didn't simply clear it.

If he did shout and Zouma was in the way, then why not simply put his foot through it? It's a catalogue of errors that allowed them to open the flood gates.

In the end, I still think he will be a very good goalkeeper so some of the obscene criticism on here are in my opinion unfair, but he does need to realise his position.

We have to give Stek a go.....much as I think he is crap.

The thing is, if Pickford is injured....or indeed suspended if he had picked up the red card his tackle on Alli deserved yesterdsy....we would have to play him.

And a catastrophic loss of form by the first choice falls into the same category and leaves no option but to bring in the understudy.

Pickford needs benching....both for the sake of the team and himself.

Only 2 goals away from having conceded 100 goals in 1 and a half seasons here. But yeah he's the next de gea or something :coffee:
Its like having an 10 year in goal. You never know what will happen next. A world class safe or an Anfield calamity. He has some talent but not the head to be a consistent good keeper. Also you can say he has to play with Keane and Mr "courant d'aire" Coleman!

Working class, yeah right!
