class youngster...

expect the worst and you will get the worst. expect the best and you will get the best.
A lot in here expected the best, yet we havent seen any of it.

Look how close that shot is away from Pickford's clown shoes. He actually takes his feet away from just dealing with the shot and decides to dive for it with his hand instead.

This is one bad GK we have here. Decision making appalling.
I havent seen it again, but during the game I thought it weird how Pickford dived for the ball insted of sticking his feet out and making himself a bigger obstacle.

Absolute madness to be pointing blame at Pickford for that one.

There’s plenty of goals that can be but not this one.
Yeah, "madness" to expect a GK to get a boot on a ball going across him about a foot away from where he planted himself. If only we had Buffon at his peak, he would have been the only one who could have dealt with that "unstoppable" shot.

We'll have to disagree here D.

If Vardy had gone near post you'd all be moaning that he'd stuck his boot out the other way.

Look at the pressure Zouma had him under to get that shot off at just that point. He knew it was on its way, he knew it;d be across his body because he;d covered his near post and gave Vardy only one option - to go across him. I doubt anyone watching were expecting the ball to be aimed anywhere else than where it went.

It's revealing that quite a few of outr own supporters think that shot was unstoppable. I said a day or so back that such thinking is an indication of what some fans think we should expect from Pickford rather than what should be seen as possible for a GK.

We are in danger of expecting nothing from this GK.

I expect him to be judged fairly and to be called out when he does make a mistake. Thats not a mistake, thats a good finish.

Honest to God, is anyone looking at that and really saying "Impossible to save"?

Unreal if so. It's right through the oaf.

It's literally at his feet.

It's an OBVIOUS finish. Vardy can be pleased with his power and placement, but you cant give any excuse to a goal keeper who doesn't get anything on it from his planted position. Not a bit of it.

one weird individual you, you are watching a 30mill quid defender have a touch that pathetic with no pressure on him what so ever, see a VERY good striker put the ball right into the corner of the goal, and your blaming the keeper

I know what your saying about that the most obvious place to put it is where he has put it. But the fact is if Pickford gambles and dives early, with his hands because I'm not having that he's reaching that with his foot, and then Vardy puts it high and down the middle then we'd be here having the conversation of why has he guessed and not reacted. In that case I would agree that he was in the wrong. But in this case its just a good finish imo.

You are right - it wasn't impossible.

What it was in reality though was an incredibly difficult shot to save that came from one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League over the last 3 seasons, from about 8-9 yards out with a lot of power.

99% of goalkeepers in World Football wouldn't have saved it.

Your ridiculous singling him out for almost everything is pathetic but then that is what we have come to expect with a lot of your posts.

The header from Walcott was bizarre, the mistake from Keane horrendous and that is why we conceded, and that is why we lost.

...at least he'd have made a decision. Something he's always in two minds about at key moments.

BTW, it was EASIER to save with his feet than his hands. Saving with a hand at a moment like that robs you of crucial time to get something on a shot. That's something a good GK would know instantly and just decide that any low shot will be dealt with by the feet.

I suppose "he's young and will learn that though". :coffee:
