Pickford is a very good, young keeper. To an extent he is still learning his trade. I would venture to say he would look less exposed if he had a better defense in front of him.

The irony in this, is he was exactly the same age as Joel was when we signed him, and this was never used as an excuse for him, quite the contrary in fact.

Always did a job when he came in Joel. I remember him coming in for a good run of games and doing really well. He was always on a hiding to nothing though because of the haters.

Made some big mistakes this season and I've been critical, but he's also bailed us out a lot too.

I think he needs a much better backup. Being able to give him a rest for a couple of games without the risk of the opposition slotting eight between Stekelenberg's legs would do both us and Jordan a world of good I think, especially seeing as he had no preseason. Most of the bigger clubs in this league have quite serviceable second choice keepers, no reason we should still have Stek kicking about.

The sight of him side stepping and letting Origi's shot go down the middle is burned into my retina's.

Aside from that I didn't really mind him, but he will always be a number 2 goalkeeper.
