I remember watching a video of him when we were first interested in him. There was nothing in it that made him look particularly good. It was always a very underwhelming signing for me.

The 5live commentator thought similarly to you. He said Pickford’s his own biggest critic, this (the tongue out and laughing) would’ve been his instinctive reaction to that knowing he’d blundered. Cross with himself.

I hadn’t decided until today, but I’m fully on board with selling Pickford now. Regardless of his personality, he’s become far too shaky anytime the ball comes his way. Can’t have that.

Blokes proper weird isn’t he. Flaps for everything, smirks and laughing at mistakes, dives when shots fly 8 miles wide, lumps high kicks to Bernard

...I get all that and I don’t focus on his reaction to a mistake, but outwith the series of errors I’m not seeing a keeper in command. He’ll make fine saves but I expect a keeper to make fine saves. He’s ineffective dealing with the basics.

A good keeper makes the basics look easy, a really good keeper makes the difficult look easy.

Yes I agree. He makes me feel very anxious.

Honestly I'm not sure what Robles ever did that wrong. I was far more comfortable with him in goal.

He's arrogant as hell and quite unlikeable as a person. There's a place for those sort of players I feel in successful teams, but they've got to feel that fear they'll be dropped like anyone else unless they perform. He's not improving or learning from mistakes because currently there's no alternative to play the position. Anyone in any job would feel safe to arse around sometimes and phone it in if they knew there's zero consequences.

A reckon if we signed serious rival we'd see him recapture his best form.
